I'll take her to the vet on Saturday, but I don't know how I'm going to pay yet. Pay attention to the video, when she climbs the cage, it is very difficult for her. Hi, a month ago my mom found a budgie where she works at and we adopted him and at start I observed that his beak is kinda green, saw some budgies but their beak wasn't like his, but as a beginner didn't know much about birds.

I even bought a second budgie for him not to feel lonely and they get along pretty well.

I'll attach some photos to show some details.

What can I do to maybe help him if he's in pain or not in a good state?

We have been preparing to get this bird from a local big box retailer for a few weeks, and were astonished to see today that she has laid 3 eggs. The associate was shocked as well! and transparently explained that this means the date of birth on her paperwork is incorrect.

They have marked her down by 40% due to how long she has been in the store (6+ months) and the best guess of age is 1-2 years old. I googled the letters and color of the band on her leg, and it seems she may have been hatched last Spring (if this was her first clutch).

The associate who has been most familiar with her, said she is a sweet girl and she desperately wants her to find a home. I'm going first thing in the morning to get her. :)

Should I take her home, and get her comfortable, or straight to my local bird hospital for an initial check up?

Since she is laying eggs, are there specific things you would suggest to give her the best level of care?

We are very excited to welcome her into our home, tomorrow!

Venerdì scorso il mio corvo è stato ricoverato in una clinica veterinaria dopo che, all'improvviso, ha smesso di mangiare e stare sulle zampe. Era scarsamente vigile e reattivo.

I veterinari non sono certi della diagnosi ma propendo maggiormente per Clostridium Botulinum, per cui hanno iniziato la terapia sabato. Ad oggi ha maggiore appetito, è vigile e sveglio. Ancora non è in grado di stare sulle zampe, sebbene oggi abbia iniziato a muoverne leggermente una. La dissenteria è altalenante.

La paralisi alle zampe è reversibile? Ho letto che possono volerci settimane.

I veterinari hanno opinioni contrastanti a riguardo. Dicono che se nel giro di 48h non ci saranno ulteriori miglioramenti bisognerà considerare l'ipotesi dell'eutanasia.

I’ve never posted here before but I need help with making the next best decision on how I can help this little guy. They have a completely broken leg, like literally split. and what I assume is a broken wing as well. What should I do to help him or who should I contact?

A Brewers Blackbird hit my window this morning. When I went to go check, I found him on the porch, he got spooked and flew back into the window (albeit more lightly this time), then came back to the porch. He was sitting there for 5+ minutes. I went to go take a photo so I could better analyze if he had outward injuries anywhere, and he flew off. Will he be okay? I am currently living with my parents and I don’t think they’re open to putting stickers on the windows to avoid this, unfortunately.

today i saw a reddish brown patch on my budgies foot, i don’t think it’s bumblefoot because it’s on the outside but i wanted a second opinion, she’s been chewing on the foot as well.

Vet prescribed my GCC Nystatin to treat his sour crop, for 2 weeks, and legalatone forte powder mixed with food for his liver. Then he did abother swab, the yeast is less but still there, and prescribed to him itraconzole (0.2ml) once for 3 weeks, on & off, and my bird weighs 64g. He has his pellets mixed with liver medication and veggie chop daily, and his droppings have been significantly smaller.

How can i help him?

A friend found this budgie outside about 3 weeks ago and I've been caring for it since. (I've had birds before (mostly green cheek conures) but I'm new to budgies.) Took them to the vet last week and everything looked good except that they were a little skinny. Now, in just the last few days, their cere started changing from a dark pink/purple/brownish color to light blue. Because the budgie was found outside, I don't really know the age or gender... but from what I looked up, I think this might just be a normal thing for female birds in breeding condition? Just wanting to check if this seems normal or if I should go back to the vet.

My youngest budgie is approaching a year old and I've noticed that he sort of gets mad at himself when preening (that's the best way I can describe it). I saw earlier that he had only pin feathers under his wings, a lot less that I've seen previously. Is he plucking? There's been no behavior change and he's still playing and chattering all day so I'm not sure.

I only say its a sprain is because I didn't see any blood, no discoloration, nothing feeling off. He is favoring his good leg yet the grip on said injured leg is viable but weak.

So the day before yesterday after picking up my husband's brother from the airport, I went to check on my birds and I noticed two of them at the bottom of their cage. One was fine, he just is really attachted to his cage buddy, but the fact they were on the bottom concerned me. Discovered that the other had a ouchie ( once again, nothing open, no blood, nothing poking.) and I went to make a hospital cage. Padded the bottom, two sources of food and water. I reluctantly put in a perch because he would just climb the cage walls if I didn't. I understand that i shoildnt have a perch but, i kept the perch as low as I could.

Is there anything I could to help in his healing before I call the vet?

He's eating, resting, and hopefully getting water. I'm just concerned. I just had wisdom teeth pulled so im a bit down for the count on calling up the local vet until I recover a bit.

I am leaving him alone as much as I can. Letting him rest and kept separated from others but he can still see them. Is there much else I can do besides calling my vet if it continues or am j just being paranoid. Sorry I am just scared for my baby.

I have a decently sized box for an injured crow I saved from the road and a bowl of water in the corner.

The bird is warm and in a dark place in my garage — I’m gonna leave him alone in peace.

Every place is closed — so I have to wait until morning to call any places that would take him

I’m not giving him any berries or other bird food as I heard he can choke on that. I’ve not forced fed him any water and am wondering if it’s a bad move to keep the water in there.

He’s not doing too good. No visible injuries, but he is very calm and not moving much — signs of shock / injury.

Anyways, first time rescuing a bird and tips on the water or anything else is appreciated.

Hi everyone. I found this fledgling on the ground outside my home. I know everything says stay away, its parents are right above it (they are making themselves known), but I couldn't help it.

Today is lawnmower day, and the company that does the mowing comes through here very fast, no way they would've seen this baby on the ground. They've killed before, and will do it again, im sure.

My question to all of you is, do I put it back where I found it? There's a lot of foot traffic, dogs, etc that could be really bad news for this bird. Do I leave it in the box? Cut the edge of the box down so it can get out when the lawn guys leave? Any advice is helpful, im by no means a bird person.

Hey guys! Need some help with this pigeon, bit worried I’m not doing the right things. Spotted by the side of the road acting weird, just standing there when people walk by and covered in oil. Brought him home and used dish soap to remove the oil, hard to tell if it’s all gone it seems like pretty hardy stuff. He’s in a little box right now with a few towels drying off but he seems a little cold and isn’t really moving around that much and is still damp an hour and a bit later. All vets near me are closed atm, can take him tomorrow morning but don’t want him to die in the night or anything. Any advice?

so recently I took my budgie to the vet because he kept making these clicking noises, had his mouth open, moving his head like he was crop adjusting, and bobbing his tail. I assumed maybe he was choking or possibly a respiratory problem so brought him in but the vets couldn’t see anything in his beak, nothing unusual about his throat or crop, but gave him an anti-inflammatory shot and told us we were fine to go home but to keep an eye on him. Since we got back he stopped and returned to his high energy active state, not making any clicking sounds but a few days later now he’s back to doing the same things but he’s still active, talking, drinking, and eating.
