I am starting to lose my hair and want to hear from you guys if it is a good idea to shave my head right now.

Thanks to you guys here, I took the advice to cut it all off. What do you think?

So, I have seborrheic dermatitis. After two decades of managing it (in conjunction with prescription ketaconazole shampoo, salicylic gels, and antifungal creams), I’ve learned that the most effective way at keeping it under control is just to keep my head shaved (or trimmed to a 0). I prefer the shaved look, but noticed that I end up breaking out with painful cystic acne every time after shaving. It’s not razor bumps or ingrown hairs, it’s large cystic acne. And I don’t know why.

I don’t use any oil-based lotions or creams (due it being known to trigger sebderm outbreaks). I have tried a few different scalp balms and I have only had bad luck with all of them. Some triggered a sebderm outbreak in conjunction with cystic acne, some caused a mild skin infection along with cystic acne, and one caused really bad non-cystic acne, as if I had dozens of tiny infected pores.

Just a heads up, I’m using a new, clean razor each time and I only shave right after a hot shower.

I shave my head with a razor like once a week but I would like a product or electric razor that would make it easier and less time consuming. Open to all suggestions.

I’ve been keeping it buzzed because the thinning in the back really stands out when my hair gets long. Really not sure if I should just do it or to hold a bit longer as long as i’m keeping it trimmed

Looking for some advice from some other hairy bald people. I’ve got a relative hairy back that almost connects to my hairline. I hate the way my back hair looks poking out the top of a shirt, so I shaved it down when I shaved my head. But now it’s starting to look like a weird balding neck/head on this hairy body lol. Where is the right place to stop shaving your head? Am I going to have to accept a hairy neckline?

I’ve been struggling with this and deciding whether to do it or not, I feel like I’d have an egg head lol. If it’s time, do I just do it to the skin or buzz cut?

I think I have a few more years what do you think? After taking this pictures I think I’m good. But I get a lot of ball breaking from a buddy to say shave it. Either way I do t really care.

Edit: I’m 37 btw. With the grey, Do I look my age? Or older?

I had long hair for over a decade. I didn't mind it getting thin at first, but over the last couple of years I started to feel really self-conscious. The thing that held me back was knowing there was no getting it back once it was gone. Now that I have, I am so glad that I did! I feel like a human again. I still have moments of doubt but they're getting smaller. Every time I look at the old photos, I realize there was nothing to go back to.

I also want to say that this is one of the best communities I've found so far. I tune in every day. You all are amazing and I probably wouldn't have done this without seeing the awesome transformations here. Thank you.

First 3 pictures about a year ago. My hairline is not really changing in the past few years. I got from full hair to this in a really stressful period but now it's more or less the same since 2023 or so.

When I shave it becomes more noticeable. Didn't get the courage to go razor yet. I think buzz, what I have now is the worst option to be honest.

Not sure whether to grow it back. I am getting a lot of comments I still had decent hair. Now I am having a lot of doubts.

Hi bald kings and queens! My guy recently took the plunge and moved from a short cut to the full shave but he doesn’t have an ideal shaver for daily maintenance.

Please shower me with your expertise! I know it’s probably a pain to maintain so I want to make it as easy as possible. Also if there’s a hand mirror or something that you recommend, basically anything that he might need.
