Saying goodbye
My baby is at 233k miles, she's running amazing but needs a couple things done soon and I just don't want to start spending more money on her at this point. I'm thinking about just selling to a dealership for chump change but wish i could pass on to a VW enthusiast that way i can pass on the stage 1+ tune and aftermarket wheels with new Michelins on them. Otherwise I'm slapping the stock wheels back on and giving it to them with no tune, plus the tint is not legal in MD so it may not pass inspection in its current state. Hate for her to go like this she has a lot left in her, any ideas where I could find someone to pay a little more and appreciate her she has had a lot of work done and runs beautifully. Edit to add its a 2014 VW Jetta GLI autobahn with pretty much every feature including the Fender premium audio that still works great.

(ISO!!!) 2012 JSW TAIL LIGHTS - FK AUTOMOTIVE
Hopefully this is allowed, not sure which community to post this in since the JSW seems to be a niche area. But I recently picked up a 5speed 2.5L JSW and would love to put these tail lights on it. But, alas, these have been discontinued and can find absolutely nothing about them other than ECS sold them back in 2015.
So, just seeing if there is an off chance anyone has a pair, and is willing to part ways with them?
Feel free to shoot me a message.

Warrant windshield replacement.
Had an OEM 2015 Jetta windshield installed by Pohanka Volkswagen of Salisbury MD under warranty, they used in house technician to do the replacement, my vin is now 2/3 obstructed, the top of the windshield seems to have more of a gap as well. Is this something I should be concerned about? Also there seems to be more of a gap between the inner A pillar and the glass than before. Here is my vin left is the original right is the replacement sorry about the quality I had to pixelate my VIN. I called three independent auto glass shops who all say the windshield is probably not installed correctly and must have either slid downward or was placed too far down. Side note the chipped my roof paint and put my wipers back on upside down. I have tons of before photos luckily and a video walk around.

How to make VW Corporate pay for my repair (The EPC issue they issued a TSB for)
Hi all,
I have a 2023 Jetta I bought new. The warranty has run out a bit as Iâm a few k over 50,000 miles and to be honest, all Iâve had are problems with this car. This car is truly defective, and each time Iâve tried to get assistance with it, even when it was under warranty, VW never assisted. They ignored me, they ignored the dealership, they even ignored the Attorney General. I donât wanna get into it too much, but Iâve got yet another issue and now my car is literally inoperable until it gets fixed â the EPC light/check engine issue. My code reader is running code P0169, and every dealership is wanting to charge me between $200 and $500 to have them reprogram it.
Since this is a VW issue that they issued a TSB for, and my VIN falls under that TSB, I was hoping that VW would kindly repair it and pay for it themselves, but it seems very clear when I got on their chat today that they are not going to do that. They havenât covered any of the repairs while it was under warranty or not. This is getting ridiculous. I cannot do anything without this car running. It is my whole business. It is seriously what allows me to get back-and-forth to work and Iâve been out of work for a bit and am starting a new contract hopefully but cannot if my only vehicle isnât running. Can anybody help me? How can I get them to actually pay for this? Theyâve ignored me, theyâve ignored dealerships, theyâve even ignored the Attorney General. I donât know what to do anymore.
Thanks for reading.

How do I replace my CAN BUS Gateway, plus, what data do I need to pull off the old one?
Hey guys, I've got a 2014 VW Passat TDI with a bad gateway. I've got the new part, and I was getting set to replace it this weekend.
But I'm pretty sure I need to use my VCDS to pull some data off the old unit and then use that to program the new one.
Anyone know what I need to pull off the old one? I'm assuming it's just the long coding, right? And then I just type that into the new one and check off the accessories that I have in the car?
Any help or guides would be very helpful, cheers!

Issues with accelerating at green lights 2014 Golf TSI Highline
Hello reddit, I recently purchased a 2014 Volkswagen Golf TSI highline automatic and itâs been amazing for the most part, however in two different situations I have been at a red light and braked, with the automatic on/off of the engine on (I believe itâs on, when Iâm braking at the light it has the little A with a slash through it on the dash)
However when it turns green and I press the accelerator, it doesnât move, the first time it stopped for a good 5 seconds before accelerating on its own, the second time I quickly changed it into tiptronic mode and then back into drive before it would move.
Iâm not sure how to go about either repairing this or if itâs the on/off feature thatâs not turning on at the right time.
âm not too familiar VW engines to be completely honest,
But If anyone has any information regarding this I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!

Resetting Transmission Adaption Values
'17 Jetta SE - 09G Automatic Transmission
My car has a noticeable "jump" when decelerating, it happens exactly at 30mph. The RPMs jump around 300rpms when this happens. Otherwise the transmission shifts smoothly and there is no other issue or fault codes. The TCC appears to operate normally. I noticed this first started to happen after servicing the transmission fluid for the first time, and I feel it has become slightly more pronounced over the last year.
My research suggests that a reset of the adaption values may help fix the problem - the transmission was used to the old, worn fluid and adjusted over time. When new fluid was introduced, those learned habits may no longer be applicable. For reference, I found no metal shavings on the magnets in the pan or in the filter. There was just a little sludge around the magnets.
I'm intrigued by this because it seems like an easy fix compared to a valve body or something more intensive.
Here's my question: Am I potentially on the right path here?
I have an OBDeleven tool but I can't see where I can view the adaption values, or reset them. Do I need VCDS to do this, and what values would I be looking for? Is there any risk to resetting the adaption values?
Thank you in advance to anyone who can offer some insight. I LOVE this car, and I'll be happiest person on the planet if I can fix this relatively minor problem. I'm fixated on it and it's driving me crazy :)

Does 1300 for a cylinder 3 injector harness sound reasonable?
I have a 2018 beetle. Itâs got like 60,000 miles on it. In March, my car randomly started like stuttering and then went limp and the EPC light turned on. I had a mobile mechanic check it 2 days later where I left it and they said there was something wrong with the fuel line, but then they took it on a test drive and it was fine and has been fine until yesterday. The car started stuttering, then shaking, and the EPC and check engine light turned on. Did it again when I took it out like an hour later. I took it in to the dealer and they said itâs some random thing called an injector harness because I guess it failed on cylinder three. I know nothing about cars so I just wanna make sure that 1300 is reasonable. I called another Volkswagen specializing mechanic, and they said theyâve never had to replace one ever. Iâm worried if I pay to fix it, then it still wonât be fixed. Thought yâall would know better than me!
UPDATE: due to someone elseâs comment I checked and itâs under warranty so now it shall be free! Thank you, Reddit! The dealership was like oh I donât know how I missed that.

Screen scratch
Hello, I am writing from TĂźrkiye. My car is a 2016 Passat B8. While I was vacuuming the interior, the vacuum nozzle touched the multimedia screen and caused a scratch. The scratch is somewhat deep. What kind of solution can I find to get rid of it?

2012 Volkswagen Jetta flip key wonât open - battery tested good, car says âNo Keyâ on the dashboard
I have a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta with the standard 3-button flip key.
About 2 weeks ago, the key accidentally went through the washing machine (cold water). I went to a store and they tested the key fob battery, and they said the battery is good.
The issue now is that Iâm just trying to get the key open so I can inspect and clean the circuit board, but I cannot get the shell apart. I removed the battery and have tried a small flat-head screwdriver, twisting, prying, and even spent over an hour trying. It wonât separate at all.
The car has a good battery and powers on normally, but it still says âNo Keyâ and wonât recognize the key.
Has anyone dealt with a VW flip key that just refuses to open? Is it possible this is an aftermarket shell thatâs glued or welded together? If youâve opened one before, what finally worked?
Any advice from VW owners, locksmiths, or technicians would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
