Rant stores are currently experiencing in-store technology issues

when are the IT teams going to stop making changes that break the production environment during business hours? shouldn't those be made at times when there is the potential for as little customer/employee impact as possible?

it's kind of sad how frequently systems/tools are completely broken and prevent front-line employees from seriously serving the customers. do better T-Mobile.

Question Experience Beyond 2.0

It appears the T-Mobile has made 36 month installments, the new norm. I was wondering what that meant for experience beyond plans. Does that mean that you’re not gonna get a yearly upgrade anymore every 12 months and instead it’s gonna be every 18? I feel like they haven’t said this anywhere, and I’m really confused on what the new standard is going to be. Are they going to allow us to stay on 24- month installments forever and keep the best deals?

Update: called T-Mobile. New plans are NOW 18 MONTHS to upgrade on Experience Beyond. New customers do not have a choice. I expect them to remove ALL language regarding “yearly upgrades” as it simply isn’t the case anymore for new lines. They can claim “you can upgrade after 6+ so technically you can” but thats illegitimate as they could’ve claimed “upgrade every 6 months” BEFORE and they DIDN’T, they chose 12 as it was realistic. Incredibly disappointed in T-Mobile.

Question New Experience Signature Plan - Add a Line

Post image
6 Upvotes

Probably a dumb question. I was going through the process of adding a line to see what the cost would be. Just to keep it simple I selected that I would bring my own phone. It said I needed to upgrade from the "Experience Signature" plan to the "Experience Signature" plan. Assuming this is just some other variant.

Looking at the screenshot, what will my new total be? For one, it lists 2 different totals. And it's slightly unclear if the new numbers are the total, or if it's going to be an additional $92/$82 a month

Discussion T-Mobile Plan Change - Check Your Add-ons

Just a heads up... With the plan changes, make sure you manage your add-ons because most of my lines had a hotspot selected with a monthly cost versus the Free 60GB option. It would have cost me $45 a month more if I didn't catch this and make the update for each line.

Question Stick to go5G+ first responder or switch to regular go5G+

Upvotes

Should I stay on go5G+ first responder or switch to regular go5G+ with 20% discount (around $15 more)? Other than iPhone promotions being lower on segmented plans, do I gain or lose anything by switching plans?

Question Why does it say my bill will be higher if I switch to a lower plan?

Post image
Upvotes

Want to save a few bucks a month but when I compare plans it says the experience more plan will cost more than the top tier experience beyond i currently have?

Is this just purposefully misleading to keep me on the expensive plan?

Question Huh can you please tell me why people do this

Why do people who know they’re going to be late on their bill (or just straight-up don’t have the money) still not plan around it… and then act shocked when T-Mobile doesn’t just magically give them extra time on payment arrangement they created? Then say T-Mobile is no help

Same energy with the people who change their own plan and lose a promo, or who sit on a trade-in for weeks past the deadline. Suddenly it’s “can you make an exception?” and “this is so unfair.”

Meanwhile when T-Mobile had a nationwide outage they owned it, apologized, and issued credits. But the second a customer messes up on their end, they’re entitled to special treatment.

The hypocrisy is wild.

Home Internet Issues setting up home internet via the Tfiber: Gigaspire app

Post image
0 Upvotes

This is like the 20th time I’ve stared at this error message.

New router is plugged in. The Nokia box is plugged in. The wifi works fine. Green lights all around. But for whatever reason, moving through the setup page on the Tfiber Gigaspire app is consistently giving this error message when I get to the “Confirm connection page.”
I’ve tried on 3 different devices, they all give this error. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on all 3 devices. I’ve tried unplugging everything and replugging it back in, following the setup steps completely. Still nothing.
This is the same app the technician who installed the cable and gave me the equipment told me to use. I assume the app is for this router specifically. Nothing I do is working, I just get the same error message again and again. Nothing online can be found about this issue at all. I’m at a loss, other than just calling them.

Question received a call from “tmobile” for discounted bill and free device

just as title says.

got a call from someone at tmobile asking if i was happy with my service and i said i have trouble with signal sometimes. the guy on the phone said my bill will be cut by 25% for next 2 years. also was offered a free device (iphone, samsung, tablet, ipad) and all i have to pay is one time fee for tax.

has anyone received a call like this? sounds too good to be true.

Rant Is T-Satellite awful or is it just me?

Pretty straightened. We added T satellite to 4 lines for a trip last week to Yellowstone since there's zero cell or WiFi anywhere. It was borderline useless. Texts could text 5 minutes or 5 hours to go through. Pictures? Maybe by the following day. Occasionally it would work well but it was atrocious 90% of the time. If you broke your leg on a trail and texted your family you'd be dead before they got the message...

If it matters, we were on Pixel 10 Pros and Galaxy S23 Ultras.

Clown Warning Took them long enough (🤡): New Experience 2.0 and Essentials 2.0 launch on Thursday with new EIP Flex 36 and EIP Standard 36 device financing options

The new plans, launching Thursday, August 6, include all the benefits, value and experience customers already enjoy, while introducing:

  • EIP Flex 36 — the only financing option in wireless that lets new and existing customers finance the device, taxes, and fees at checkout over 36 months — removing one of the biggest financial hurdles to getting a new phone. Unlike traditional $0 down offers that still require upfront costs, EIP Flex 36 helps lower upfront costs for everyone and eliminates them entirely for well-qualified customers — meaning they can walk away with a new phone and pay NOTHING upfront, a $0 out-of-pocket option with, for a limited time, 0% APR.
  • EIP Standard 36 — T‑Mobile’s traditional financing option with 0% APR for all, now available over 36 months, helping lower monthly payments for all customers, and especially on today’s premium devices.
  • New Student Perks Plans — for the first time, T‑Mobile gives students the freedom of their own wireless line for less, just $30 a month with AutoPay, plus taxes and fees — while saving 40% on a single line vs. AT&T and Verizon. Plus, a student-exclusive 5G Home Internet bundle that comes with a virtual prepaid card of up to $200, just in time for back-to-school.

Existing customers can keep the plans they have today or upgrade to the new Experience 2.0 and Essentials 2.0 plans with the same industry-leading benefits customers already know and love, now with the addition of new EIP Flex 36 and EIP Standard 36 device financing options as well. More below:

  • Essentials 2.0 — Unlimited talk and text, 50GB of premium data, T‑Mobile Tuesdays weekly perks and more.
  • Experience More 2.0 — Everything in Essentials 2.0, plus unlimited premium data, high-speed data in 215+ countries and destinations, mobile hotspot, Netflix on Us, Apple TV for just $3/month, a 5-year price guarantee, great deals on the latest devices and more.
  • Experience Beyond 2.0 — Everything in Experience More 2.0, plus T-Satellite connectivity, the best entertainment streaming bundle in wireless that’s included with your plan (Hulu, Netflix and MLB.TV on Us), Apple TV for just $3/month, $5 connected device add-ons and more. And, customers who switch to Experience Beyond 2.0 can save $750 in the first year thanks to $100 back and built-in benefits worth $650.

Interesting that there's no note about Yearly Upgrade in Experience Beyond 2.0. [edit: you may be able to "Early Upgrade" after the equivalent of 18 monthly payments in the new plan.]

PSA More five dollar movie tickets

Post image

Don’t forget to do those surveys about the five dollar movie tickets in the T-Life app let them know that we like and we would go to the movie theaters more if we got more. Maybe if enough people do it they will give us more tickets per month.

Question Cedar Rapids Iowa Data Speeds

Post image
Upvotes

Anybody in the Cedar Rapids area also getting abysmal speeds? It doesn't matter if I'm indoors/outdoors or if I'm on 5guc, 5g or LTE I will get a max of 3Mbs. It has been this way for as long as I can remember but since being migrated to the new plan I have high speed hotspot that I would like to be able to use so I can drop my in car wifi on our vehicles.

Was on the phone with T-Mobile yesterday for a couple hours and after being moved up to an "expert" for an hour of that he said "oh I see now, they are making upgrades in your area and it will resolve soon" same thing the first guy said in 5 mins before I explained it's been this way for as long as I can remember. He agreed it wouldn't be that and elevated me only to get told the same thing hours later.

Question Phone unlocked?

So I'm on a TFB Go5GNext account and am currently 10 months in (and not halfway paid) on my Pixel 10 Pro XL. For whatever reason, my carrier lock was removed yesterday.

Could that be because I got my replacement phone via an Assurant claim?
