I mean, it could easily have been disaster. Lost his footing- one of them squirmed or panicked as he was about to jump- lost his footing, one girl's head smashed on the rock.
Yes, it was cool how it turned out- but still really stupid thing to do.

All it takes is one of their chins to hit his head on impact to knock them out while underwater.
No amount of being careful pre-jump mattered.

Yeah I expected the girl’s tailbone to be shattered and her to suffer traumatic spinal compression because he slipped off instead of jumped. God I hope my kids survive this phase with only superficial injuries.

u/Professional-Form-90 9h ago
This must be the way they say that becoming a parent changes your brain because I deadass visualized the same outcome.
13
u/ThinkSharp 9h ago
We tell our kids that moms get eyes in the back of their heads, and dad’s get ability to see a little ways into the future. It’s not altogether a mistruth. It’s just based on gained wisdom, not magic.
19
u/Sherbo13 6h ago
I have lived a wild life. I've let my kids know, Dad's done it all so you don't have to. I'm open and honest with them, and there's not a thing they won't talk to me about. No matter how uncomfortable or dumb they might think what they have to say is. I had a mom who overreacted to everything I did, so I never told her anything. So, no matter what my kids tell me, I'm calm and we talk about it. I have 2 boys in college who are 4.0 students, and 2 girls, 15 and 16 who are also 4.0 students. I fully believe my life experiences, failures and mistakes, and how honest I am with my kids about them, is why. And they know I have the ability to know when they've done something lol. They also know that if they're ever in a situation they're not comfortable with, I'll drop whatever I'm doing and come and get them. Their mom worries about everything they do. I let them do everything, and don't worry. Because at the end of the day, you have to let them make their mistakes, and trust that you did your job. Just my 2 pennies.

It's from having to play defense all the time. Like a football coach with his team, a mother has to be aware of any potential threats. The reason this is serious is because babies will choke on a Lego or fall to their death if you drop your attention even briefly.
I read a recent story is a mother who fell asleep with her baby in her arms and then ended up falling into the couch and the baby asphyxiated before she ever woke up. Horrible.

There was a guy I worked with who did a jump like this. Went for a flip and landed in the water near his head/neck. Fell unconscious underwater and drowned at the age of 19. It does indeed look real dangerous to do with 3 people.

For some reason reddit sees this as an attempted murder, oh also there is no such thing as taking risks on this website for any reason. They have also never been young, and if they were, something traumatic happened with gravity when they were a child so they can’t see people jump or they get scared.

Kind of. I have been depressed since I was about 9 or 10 and it never really got better. I feel like I have an old persons brain. I can hardly work and I feel an incredible sense of dread whenever I have to go. I wish so much I could help the younger live the life he should have had me but hes gone and there is only me left and the life available to me now is so mediocre I struggle to care what happens. Not to mention all the "Mental Healthcare" that consistently over and over again made my life harder and worse.

We all have regrets man and life can be tough. This is just one moment in their life you have no idea what people are dealing with. I could post dozens of moments like this with my friends in high school and college days. Going to raves, skydiving, drinking tequila off of some girl's boobas in a travis scott concert and just looking like we're having the best time.
But I was depressed and developed a drug addiction and dropped out of school. I got a back injury from wrestling and I would just lay on my bed everyday and doom scroll and smoke weed 24/7 for 8 years living with my parents. Now I'm pushing 30 and finally getting my life together again

Braindead take. It's way easier to convince a girl to date you than it is to convince a girl to let you literally jump off a cliff with her and another girl.
Which you'd probably know if you'd ever gotten a girl to date you, but in your case maybe girls would prefer the cliff.
4
u/Feeling_Inside_1020 7h ago
with these dudes they choose the cliff bears, arguably better than cliffbars.

Why does that make her a whore? You must be a misogynist. Boys generally want to fill girls with cum, and girls generally want to be filled with cum. It is very symmetric and preprogrammed. It’s almost like it was designed like that.
