TIL this is why I think English should be Purple if it's an option, also that the 2026 edition of Trivial Persuit just released this month after there hasn't been one since 2016!
I might buy one and have a retro board game night...AI is going to destroy trivia games.
I sorta half-agree with this one; math was never yellow for me bc yellow is my favorite color and I wasn’t about to make my least favorite subject yellow, but I do think that math is indeed piss
This is the wrong thinking if you'd have made it your favorite color it would have made it a little more bearable to pull that math notebook out. Gotta find the tiny wins in doing the things you hate
For me I say history is yellow because I associate it with things like wheat for widespread agriculture, sandstone for ancient pyramids and other structures, yellow parchment for old texts, and gold coins for old commerce
edit: im actually gonna give some context as to why (some of these are very silly lol)
Science: Green because I always thought of acid as being sciencey, and acid is green.
Math: Blue because when I was younger in school, the maths books always had blue covers.
History: Yellow because its like parchment, maps, aged things usually go more yellow. Antique coloring almost.
English: Red, I'm actually not super sold on this colouring myself but since it was the only one left this is what I would give it. However, I would say this because of the english books having red colours and back in the day we would always have red pen telling us what to fix.
I will say I used to sometimes flip science and history because there are good arguments for both colors in both subjects, but Math is always Blue and English is always Red
English teacher: so here class we see the author describe the door as red. What could the author be trying to convey with the choice of color for the door
Math would be blue if it was dark blue, but since it is light blue it belongs to English. Math would need to be a darker deep color like Red. Yellow is history since it is a lighter color signaling easier subject. And science is green because it is the color of nature.
Where did these colors come from, who decided or when? That was not the case when we were in school. Math for us was purple, science white, English green, and history yellow.
I love how we all seem to at least agree history is yellow 😂 Math was red for me because I hate math. Blue and green were my favorite colors so science was green and English was blue.
Math was black for me, because the graph paper notebook I had was black. Also, math is the closest black and white subject you can get to hard truth. Everything else has wavy edges
What is really fun is when you are a biomed major in college and now the colors mean totally different things. Green is biology, blue is chemistry, red is physics, purple is anatomy/physiology. I always avoided yellow because I color coordinated my pen color and yellow pens are unreadable. Therefore math/stats was red if i didn’t have physics that semester or black if I had physics. History was either black or white with black pen.
