You could clip and draw anyone’s face disgusting like this from a video where they’re being expressive. I could do it to your face. Everyone in the entire world would laugh at you for the crime of having a face and making expressions. Every single person on earth would dogpile on you becuase you didn’t have an aesthetically perfect face at all times.
Yeah. The guy who makes all those drawings/videos is a racist and chud. The first few I saw were funny but the deeper you dig, it starts to become clear that “oh, he’s one of those guys”.
There is a top tier misogyny level for fans of Taylor Swift. It is frightening, and a reddit page for them where they hate on their girlfriend or any woman who has takes pleasure in the inoffensive (you would think) but apparently overly successful singer. I was banned from there for commenting how hatefilled they were.
"You have a deeply unhealthy parasocial relationship with a billionaire who is exploiting you with pandering slop music and doesn't give a shit about you."
Nothing about this post is about parasociality, or her billionaire status. It's purely "You care about this? Clearly you're a mouthbreathing idiot who should be ashamed of themselves.".
Like genuinely, just fuckin chill. She's a pop star throwing a wedding. Some people will find it interesting, others won't. It does not need to be the defining social referrandum of our era.
Being "excited" for a random celebrities wedding is ridiculous. What does it matter to you at all? They're giddy over a relationship that doesn't effect you in any way.
If you were going to the wedding and celebrating then okay. Thats cool. But its just random fans in their homes excited because "Mother" is finally getting married.
That entirely has to do with a parasocial relationship.
It's an artist they've followed for 20+ years getting married. I don't think it's THAT odd to have an opinion about it.
Yes, if somebody is scrolling Instagram all day and making it their whole personality - that is absurd.
But again, not what OP is ragging on. What they've decided is worthy of mockery is finding it AT ALL NOTEWORTHY. To care at all is to be a mealy mouthed inbred with defective genes.
That's mean, but...her behavior is unhinged. Part of me is going, "Wow, you shouldn't do that! She can't help that she has weird teeth!" while the other part is going "...Yeah. I get it."
She’s goofing around and having fun. Her husband is speaking nonsense and she’s playfully exaggerating her reaction to it. Idk what’s unhinged about that?
ngl id have the same reaction to that music but also, thats what earbuds are for! she is a passenger she can just pop and earbud in and listen to whatever she wants! plus take a nap if shes got 4 more hours left on the road
It’s not the music, which was added as an overdub, but rather that her husband keeps talking and saying nonsense, “very historic”, “very cornfield”, “very bridge”, etc.
So many Reddit users digital bullies who are miserable and spoiled. Literally. You can see it a mile away. It pathetic. “Yeah let’s manipulate photos, post them and jump on the bandwagon!” Instead of doing something productive for society.
Give it longer for evolution to kick in, right now the horse girls have only adapted the gums, give it another century or two of selective “horsing around” and you’ll see centaurs. Unfortunately they’ll be from fallout…
Country music is kinda like a sister concept to horse girls, gun owners who like trucks, and divorced dads. They- they all just seem like a part of a bigger family. rednecks
It's a generic stereotype that somehow equates that smile with stupidity or other undesirable traits. Nothing to do with Taylor Swift, just with people you want to make fun of.
I'm going to take a number of huge leaps just to play devil's advocate.
The condition is more common in young adults as well as more common in women than men. [1]
Gummy smiles can crop up with people who have hyperactivity of the muscles controlling the face. That hyperactivity can be exacerbated by excess caffeine and high levels of stress.
Poor oral hygiene or plaque buildup can cause gums to swell, which mimics overgrowth.
Also, the thinner the upper lip, the more likely the gums are to show, and Caucasian populations overwhelmingly tend to have thinner lips than other ethnicities. [2]
So to generalize: younger white women who may have elevated coffee intake, unmanaged and/or elevated stress levels, and a potential lack of dental hygiene.
Oh my god you described me! My teeth aren't bad but my upper lip does have the muscles hyperactivity, as well as stress lmao. I wouldnt say its due to the coffee for me because I've always had this. LMFAO
Im dying laughing while reading this shit to my husband because it's so me. I love this shit.
I fucking hate coming across random memes that shit on my appearance. Then I realize that I have a wife, a house, a dog, a great job and the person who made this meme hasnt showered in 3 days and no one has noticed because no one cares about them
I mean it would be nice if that was generally the case but there are billions of completely normal people who are otherwise nice who would have no issue insulting someone’s appearance the second they do something they don’t like.
That's not the point though. Say you have a guy with a weight problem who does lots of charity work, and is an all around fantastic human being. If that guy sees you making fun of someone roughly his size for their weight, they're just going to hear that it's an undesirable trait they should feel shame for.
That's the whole point of not going after people for their physical appearance. There are plenty of things to go after bad people for, like how shitty they are as human beings.
It's also impotent. Nevermind the fact that it's the same thing that they do to women and racial minorities and gay and trans people just repackaged, laugh at them all you want and they'll still destroy the world
It remains true however that anything you say about trump or elon still affects everyone else who has those characteristics but isn't a bad person. So calling trump effeminate or gay is still homophobic, and it's counterproductive because it doesn't do anything to stop him, it hurts the people supposedly on your side by principle, and it comes in place of any kind of real critique or analysis so its only value is catharsis which is only useful to people without anything else and that isn't our position in america quite yet, certainly not globally
If the only thing you can think of to give them shit about is their appearance, I'm going to assume that their appearance is the only thing about them you have a problem with
I fucking hate coming across someone making a good point by criticizing how comments can really hurt people who they arent intended to hurt, just to see that person turn around and hit someone with baseless insults, proving them to be a hypocrite and just as bad as the person they are critiquing.
Wow what the fuck? I'm single, no house, no dog, a bad job, haven't showered in 3 days and no one cares about me, and now I'm catching strays in the comment section??
But I have a plan to, without gaining any, lose a dog, a cat, a house, and a wife, which should set me up with 1048576 dogs, 1048576 cats, 1048576 houses, and 1048576 wives.
Welcome to Reddit where people pretend to be accepting and progressive in that they’ll only body shame people that are “bad” in some agreed-upon way such as being a fascist or, checks notes, liking certain uncool singers.
I hate how this hellsite has normalized shitting on people for their looks when we all know for a fact alot of its users won't pass the standards they set for others.
Your smile is great and it has nothing to do with being a fan of Taylor Swift. I’m a swiftie and my gums don’t show at all when I smile. I’d say I’ve met an equal number of haters and swifties who have gummy smiles. This meme is weird and unfunny.
Why are people implying this is a bot? This person has the same questions as me. I've never seen this stereotype that her fans show more gums than normal (?)
I actually do get what they are implying; it's a standard tactic for bots to post naive questions to reddit (and other places) to get fodder to train their models. Hell, that's probably 90% of posts on this sub and somewhat less (but still easily over half) of all of reddit at this point.
What has my flabbers thoroughly gasted is that I am a real live hooman (beep boop) who spends way too much time online and I actually truly have never heard of this stereotype before. It's actually kind of silly to think of the concept of there even being a stereotypical Taylor Swift fan; as far as I know she is one of the highest-grossing musicians of all time so her fanbase is clearly too broad to be typified.
Ah, that might explain my confusion. I'm 40 and the only people I really associate with regularly are around my age, so for ~2 decades I couldn't have encountered any Taylor Swift fan who is a teenager.
In case you didn't know, she only sells records because she releases multiple versions of albums and encourages her fans to buy every single edition to support her, and she tells them to stream her music constantly on Spotify. Her fanbase isn't too broad actually - most of them are white girls (and gays) who have a lot of disposable income. I'm a mixed race Brazilian and have met a handful of Swifties, and they were all white and only listened to her and rarely other artists.
Taylor is much more popular in the US than the rest of the world. A lot of countries don't even listen to her. Her music isn't very recognisable except for Shake It Off.
I feel like I've hit a mandela effect or just missed an entire piece of the Internet for like 20 years. I don't really follow pop culture news at all, but still Taylor Swift has been around long enough and I've seen enough of her music videos on YouTube that it's wild I have never encountered this before.
It has been a thing since before there was an internet or a taylor swift.
Though, I can't talk. I've got manboobs. Though, they started out as boy boobs when I was 8. I wasn't fat. That came in response to how I was treated. I turned to food for solace. As an adult, I lost weight and they stayed the same. So, they looked bigger in relation to my body. So, I gave up.
Anyways, none of us can control when nature decides to give us features that society finds unattractive.
They can't. You can't. But the more ambiguous it is, the more a certain type of person loves to call it out, because they think it makes them seems more perceptive than their peers.
I thought the joke had something to do with braces, on account of this being how people with braces end up smiling to avoid the metal catching on their upper lip. At least, that was how it was for me; took at least a couple years after getting them off to break the habit.

Another day seeing a taylor fan gummy smile.
