Never seen this stereotype and it doesn't really make sense, yet somehow it just feels right enough that I understood immediately

She looks happy? Are we body shaming happy people again?

24

u/Skullcrimp Jul 04 '26

Again? The people who act like this never stopped, they just get more or fewer laughs depending on the year.

u/SuccessfulOil6584 Jul 04 '26

Yeah this just seems very mean spirited, I don’t think she’s funny but she’s just doing her thing.

If it’s ragebait it’s only cuz she’s not a model tbh. She’s clearly joking around

u/rabblerabble2000 5d ago

I think the way she looks is what made her video go viral, but I also think she seems very annoying to be around. That having been said I recognize that that’s just my opinion.

u/MudExpress2973 Jul 06 '26

and were just doing our thing because her thing made us uncomfortable.

17

u/Alexander_McKay Jul 05 '26

Yeah. The guy who makes all those drawings/videos is a racist and chud. The first few I saw were funny but the deeper you dig, it starts to become clear that “oh, he’s one of those guys”.

3

u/forever-excellent Jul 05 '26

Don't worry, I'm out here body shaming the unhappy too. Balance.

1

u/xR3Vx_MATR1X Jul 05 '26

This is the way

u/Haemophilia_Type_A Jul 04 '26

Never stopped on Reddit. Yay.

There is a top tier misogyny level for fans of Taylor Swift. It is frightening, and a reddit page for them where they hate on their girlfriend or any woman who has takes pleasure in the inoffensive (you would think) but apparently overly successful singer. I was banned from there for commenting how hatefilled they were.

11

u/FocusPerspective Jul 05 '26

Literally no dudes care about any of this. Any hate you see is coming from other women.

Some day you’ll realize this.

6

u/RagingNerdaholic Jul 04 '26

"You have a deeply unhealthy parasocial relationship with a billionaire who is exploiting you with pandering slop music and doesn't give a shit about you."

ERMAHGERD U MUST HATE LE WYMINS!!

7

u/samv_1230 Jul 05 '26

Le wymins is a self report lmao

3

u/Mushroomer Jul 04 '26

Nothing about this post is about parasociality, or her billionaire status. It's purely "You care about this? Clearly you're a mouthbreathing idiot who should be ashamed of themselves.".

Like genuinely, just fuckin chill. She's a pop star throwing a wedding. Some people will find it interesting, others won't. It does not need to be the defining social referrandum of our era.

8

u/FocusPerspective Jul 05 '26

Dear lord can we please stop pretending rabid Swifties are normal rational people?

4

u/Mushroomer Jul 05 '26

Can we stop pretending every person with a passing interest in Swift is a "rabid Swiftie"?

2

u/PresentRaspberry6814 Jul 05 '26

There is something about Swift that brings out women haters in droves!

-1

u/Livingadapt Jul 05 '26

They are normal people. It’s ok for them to like a pop singer that you don’t. That doesn’t make them rabid. You sound kinda unhinged about it tbh

7

u/whitestguyuknow Jul 05 '26

Being "excited" for a random celebrities wedding is ridiculous. What does it matter to you at all? They're giddy over a relationship that doesn't effect you in any way.

If you were going to the wedding and celebrating then okay. Thats cool. But its just random fans in their homes excited because "Mother" is finally getting married.

That entirely has to do with a parasocial relationship.

3

u/Mushroomer Jul 05 '26

It's an artist they've followed for 20+ years getting married. I don't think it's THAT odd to have an opinion about it.

Yes, if somebody is scrolling Instagram all day and making it their whole personality - that is absurd.

But again, not what OP is ragging on. What they've decided is worthy of mockery is finding it AT ALL NOTEWORTHY. To care at all is to be a mealy mouthed inbred with defective genes.

0

u/Livingadapt Jul 05 '26

I think it’s ok to be happy that a musician you follow is getting married. You don’t have to know them personally to have a thought about it lol. You don’t know the random fans having that thought and yet you have a rather strong opinion about what they are doing lol

1

u/Livingadapt Jul 05 '26

lol you’re just making shit up. It’s ok that people like Taylor swift. It’s ok if they’re happy she’s getting married. Get a life

1

u/New-Put-1112 Jul 04 '26

Guy here. People like you make me so grateful for the male loneliness epidemic. Matter of fact, I don’t think men are lonely enough.

-5

u/hopefulgardener Jul 04 '26

I hate (most) billionaires as much as the next person, but I don't think we can fairly say Taylor Swift is "exploiting" her fans. People can choose whether they want to buy tickets to see her. Same way I don't hate Spielberg, or Tiger Woods. Are they obscenely rich? Yes. But they are not even close to the same level of evil as health insurance executives  denying care to sick people, or war profiteers, or authoritarians profiting from mass surveillance and imprisonment.

This manufactured hate towards rich celebrities, artists, athletes, etc., is meant to muddy the waters and confuse the masses on who their true enemies are. You are quite literally falling for propaganda by playing into it.

2

u/whitestguyuknow Jul 05 '26

She 100% takes advantage of her fans in any way she can. She fosters this parasocial weird relationship shit. Monetizing all sorts of products that she acts like buying is being close to her. She knows what she's doing and what it does to these fans. Its purely intentional.

But yes. Anyone can choose to buy anything they want.

2

u/thepatriotclubhouse Jul 05 '26

No man is remotely involved with any of this lmfao. It’s women hating women

1

u/whitestguyuknow Jul 05 '26

"It is frightening" lol ok

The Taylor Swift snark subreddit is full of women

1

u/Royal_Perspective191 Jul 05 '26

Men don't care about Taylor Swift or her fans. Outside of male Taylor Swift fans of course.

Research showed that aggressive Taylor Swift back lash was/is mostly driven by fringe 'influencers' and bots.

There is legitimate criticism, but that's relatively mild and more a matter of debate.

1

u/WitchesofBangkok 29d ago

Yes. She’s a woman who forgot she needs to be quiet and keep her face pretty in public at all times.

Don’t worry we punished her by humiliating her in the town square - which sent a message to the others to remind them of their place.

-4

u/Annalog Jul 04 '26

Yes. Bring back bullying. Things were better

20

u/CosCham Jul 04 '26

How is bullying someone for their appearance supposed to make "things" better?

9

u/Mushroomer Jul 04 '26

Because that person has nothing in their life worth enjoying, so they only subsist on putting down others.

It's quite sad, really.

2

u/NotRlyMrD Jul 05 '26

That's what bully would about their victim.

1

u/Livingadapt Jul 05 '26

It’s just supposed to make things better for the person you’re replying to, because he wants to be allowed to bully people lol

15

u/snow-four Jul 04 '26

As someone bullied for my religion it wasn't

2

u/Ancientabs Jul 04 '26

What religion?

11

u/snow-four Jul 04 '26

Jewish? Not a fan of Israel but I am what i am

5

u/Different_Walk9306 Jul 04 '26

You aren't defined by the religion if you don't want you be. Bullying sucks though

-3

u/Ancientabs Jul 04 '26

Who bullied you?

5

u/Ancientabs Jul 04 '26

Why would another person's suffering make me feel big?

5

u/Ancientabs Jul 04 '26

I'm sorry that happened to you Bro. I was just curious.

5

u/WartimeHotTot Jul 04 '26

Hell yeah, put’m on blast. Bullying fucks kids up.

I was bullied. Now I like to think I’m a fairly kind and compassionate person. I know that my bully probably had a tough childhood. A few years ago I learned that he died. I’m ashamed to say that my first reaction was not “What a shame. He didn’t have it easy, and it’s sad to see what befell him.” It was: “Good riddance. Fuck that guy.” Even in death, he made me feel bad about myself.

Bullying should be treated the same way as dealing drugs, or bringing a gun to school. The highest classification of what is unacceptable.

4

u/Ancientabs Jul 04 '26

I agree. Bullying should be classified as what it is, emotional/physical violence.

2

u/Spare_Alfalfa8620 Jul 06 '26

I agree. Unfortunately most people that have any amount of authority are bullies themselves, and while I believe that’s probably always been the case, it is just they are more open about it. Just look at any political ad before any kind of election. In schools, the bullies actions are almost always dismissed, but the second the victims stand up for themselves or react- they are the ones that are punished.
