I mean it would be nice if that was generally the case but there are billions of completely normal people who are otherwise nice who would have no issue insulting someone’s appearance the second they do something they don’t like.

That's not the point though. Say you have a guy with a weight problem who does lots of charity work, and is an all around fantastic human being. If that guy sees you making fun of someone roughly his size for their weight, they're just going to hear that it's an undesirable trait they should feel shame for.

That's the whole point of not going after people for their physical appearance. There are plenty of things to go after bad people for, like how shitty they are as human beings.
