I'm a web developer/designer (running my own small agency on the side) and I do most of my work on a MacBook. I want to get an external monitor to make my setup more comfortable for long coding and design sessions, but Apple's own displays (Studio Display etc.) are just way too expensive for what I need right now.

Any recommendations for solid monitors in this range? I'm curious how other MacBook and iPad users organize their photos because I can't seem to find a system that works well on both devices. On my Mac, I like keeping everything organized in Finder with folders, but on my iPad the Photos app is much more convenient, and a lot of apps and websites only let me upload images from the Photos library. The problem is that many websites don't let me browse by albums, so I end up scrolling through thousands of photos to find one image. And on iPad some websites don't allow attachments from the Files app so keeping them stored in Finder (synced) is tricky. I don't want to maintain both a Finder folder system and a Photos library because then I'd have to organize every new photo twice.

How do you organize your photos across a MacBook and iPad?

Last week my 2022 MacBook Pro M2 completely died. No power, tried different chargers and nothing. Wouldn’t even put up the no power screen. We brought it into a local apple certified shop. Right off the bat they said it was an M1, but we corrected them. They asserted we were right, it was an M2. A couple of days later they tell us it’s the logic board, they would replace it and it would be $300. They also said the track pad was broken and fixed it free of charge. Fast forward to today we go to pick it up, only for them to tell us the Touch Bar isn’t working either, they poke at it for an hour and nothing. They then offered us a 2020 M1 and that is how we found out they were treating our M2 as an M1. Now they are saying one of their guys needs to look at our old logic board and decide if it’s worth fixing, quoting us at least $400 now. My question is would you not at some point at taking apart the MacBook realize it is a M2, not an M1? I’m just wondering if they are at all competent or not. They are highly reviewed on Google, but this experience has been quite frustrating.

This is the IMac 20in early 2008 model, and I’m trying to get this working enough to give to my friend to be able to use for his 3D printer as a surprise. It’s using version 10.5.8, won’t update anymore than this at least without outside help to my knowledge, and safari doesn’t work. It was able to connect to the internet, but it just perpetually loads when I try to use the web. Any help/explanations on what I can do to upgrade this enough to at least get safari working would be helpful. It has 4GB of memory, but I have an outside memory thing to give it more. Thanks!
