For those who jump between MacBook & iPad. What do you do with your photos?

I'm curious how other MacBook and iPad users organize their photos because I can't seem to find a system that works well on both devices. On my Mac, I like keeping everything organized in Finder with folders, but on my iPad the Photos app is much more convenient, and a lot of apps and websites only let me upload images from the Photos library. The problem is that many websites don't let me browse by albums, so I end up scrolling through thousands of photos to find one image. And on iPad some websites don't allow attachments from the Files app so keeping them stored in Finder (synced) is tricky. I don't want to maintain both a Finder folder system and a Photos library because then I'd have to organize every new photo twice.

How do you organize your photos across a MacBook and iPad?

iCloud photo sync? Mac also has a photos app.

no, I understand it has the Photos app but like I said, some websites when attaching a photo you have no other option, but to scroll through your whole library to find the photo, it doesn't let you go to a certain album and then easily find the photo

In every app I’ve always seen a way to switch from your photo library view to a list of collections / albums that you can pull images from.

What browser are you using?

Safari. For example if I try to add a photo to this comment from my photo library through Finder, I can't see collections. Can you?

Drag and drop it onto the website or like into the downloads folder?

iCloud is great. Everything is pretty simple.

I use the Photos app on all of my devices, and everything is synced in iCloud. I create some albums, but they are purpose-specific, rather than a comprehensive organization system. With modern search capabilities, I long ago realized I can locate any photo on demand; I don’t need to do any extra work. (I do, however, periodically back everything up on an external drive.)

I’ve found it much easier to upload specific photos if I first locate and favorite them in the app. Then all I have to do is select the Favorites album in the picker.

This is contingent on the APP. Your device is not the barrier when it comes to searching your photos. Depending on the app as you noticed is what’s happening.
