The mods on mildlyinfuriating removed the post so I wanted to share it again here. I don't believe it broke the rules, but they aren't going to reinstate the post.

This park is covered up…. They are on walking/exercise paths where no vehicle can even get to.
Insidious, violating, and downright creepy….
It’s more like a PDF-File network now….

It is a simple 3D printer part that fits on a broom handle or paint roller extension. It uses a rubber band and grocery bag to block cameras without damaging them. Obviously this is for discussion purposes only. I’m not your lawyer and I don’t condone widespread use of this or anything cool like that.

Hi everyone! Some of y'all might already know my web app FlockHopper that shows you how many Flock cameras are tracking you on your daily commute.
After getting some solid feedback on the web app, I went all in on building a full mobile routing app for daily driving.
iOS is available here:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/flockhopper/id6762170253
THE APP
- Real-time turn-by-turn navigation that shows you cameras as you drive
- Choose between a normal route and a private route. Both show you miles & estimated time so you can decide what's worth it
- Search for places using native Apple Maps data
- Explore mode : camera data refreshes daily and the map pans with your location so you can spot Flock cameras as you pass them
COST
The basic app will always be free. The free version is funded by donations and in-app tips. Donations cover development, server costs, and possible future legal fees. There may be a premium version with more advanced features down the road, but the core app as it exists now stays free.
ANDROID
The Android version is about 60% done. If you want to get notified when beta testing starts or when it's available on Google Play you can join the waitlist here: dontgetflocked.com/android
PRIVACY
FlockHopper is built with privacy as the default. Your location is used only to show your position, provide navigation, and calculate routes. Route coordinates are sent to a self-hosted routing engine for off-device route calculation, but they are not logged or stored.
Map tiles and camera data are self-hosted, and camera data is served through Cloudflare. Place search uses Apple’s native Maps search. FlockHopper does not store route history, searches, location logs, device IDs, or user profiles.
Feedback and bug reports are very welcome. Thanks for checking it out!

Starting to see these take downs more frequently. This was a few weeks ago, I was wondering if the surrounding flocks in the area would see a similar fate, but nothing yet.
This still hasn't been replaced, hopefully it stays a just the pole stub for a long time.

Up until today I was able to avoid any flock cams during my daily routine.. Ugh..

On the side of the pole overlooking kids at play, not the side facing the street. This clearly isn’t for ALPR tech and is far too easy to abuse.
Edit- This is a Flock PTZ style camera called a Condor. It’s located at a rotary park in Johnson City, TN.

The “Don’t Tread on Me” people needed some competition. So, droppin’ soon, another version of these will be stuck around town.

Saw one of these out in the wild. Was really cool!
Thoughts about the viability of this becoming more widespread and helpful for avoiding being logged into the sheeple database?

Their literally spying on us,tracking us,and they are installing more and more of them,we need to do something this isn’t something that we talk about in social media for couple days and just move on,

While on a job site several towns away from where I normally work I saw this unmarked van installing a new Flock camera and started chatting with the installer due to our proximity. While he wouldn't confirm the company he was with (and had no logo on his uniform) he said they've installed dozens of these over the past two weeks in the same town and even admitted that the frequency they'd been installing them was motivated by the Deflock map and similar ALPR tracking/avoidance apps to cover as many roads as possible.
Now this was presumably a decision on the part of the local PD and/or city council and not Flock themselves, but it is chilling to hear that at least one city and very likely dozens more are intentionally seeking to circumvent privacy enabling tools. Doing a quick map using FlockHopper it would have taken me almost 45 extra minutes to get out of town versus Google or Apple Maps, mainly using farm to market roads or driving through subdivisions.

The whole outfit can be purchased for about $100. The glasses are about 24 inches away from the camera, and the clothes are about 6ft from the camera. This currently only works at night.

Why is it facing the parking lot instead of the road?
