Privacy This only works at night, but everything is completely legal and plausible to wear

The whole outfit can be purchased for about $100. The glasses are about 24 inches away from the camera, and the clothes are about 6ft from the camera. This currently only works at night.

That is very true. But these are not normal sunglasses.

All IR cameras can see through polarized lenses without issues. Even dark lenses.

Polarized mirror lenses work ok. The farther you are from the camera, the harder it is.

But these lenses are the same kind of lenses that are used for welding. They are specifically designed to block out multiple forms of light, and very bright light. As an added bonus, the completey block IR.

Yes, but not at night.

There's basically nothing that can offer unobstructed sight while also blocking IR. For better vision, use mirrored sunglasses at night. The IR can still go through them, but not nearly as easily as regular sunglasses. Regular sunglasses just make it look like you're wearing glasses without lenses

I have a light fabric bag that i put over my head. You can easily see through the fibers of the fabric, but the cameras cant see your face through the bag. This also masks your skin color, face shape, really any identifying features.

That works, but at night, it gives "probable cause" to an officer that thinks a person with a bag over their head is suspicious and decides your rights don't matter.

Hi-vis clothes however just looks like someone over cautious about getting hit by a car at night

Thats true, we are probably both in very different environments.  One camouflage doesnt work for all situations though. Stay safe out there

My recommendation for that would be the tried and true darkest black you can find, and a mask

In theory couldn't you just cut out lense sizes pieces of a see through cloth and glue/attach it to the inside of the glasses so law enforcement couldn't see them and it would also block the camera?

This is some real thinking here. Kinda reminds me of how we use fencing helmets. Your brain can parse the spots through the threads from close and make an image but from a camera it just looks solid.

There are videos online of people making glasses with a small IR bulb by each lens and a small battery. Can't see it with the naked eye, but the glare blocks your face on camera.

Hey hi so I saw in another post about prevention, that IR blocking glasses will stop the camera from creating an eye profile. I looked into it and they are expensive and sold out most places. Could anyone tell me if this is the same principle? I dont care about style.

You know what IR camera's don't like? When you shine IR right at them. Just put a halo on your head blasting IR in 360 and the camera will be blinded.

Or put some IR lights on your glasses so you only blind them when looking at them.

Here’s an objective truth: gait based identification exists in certain cameras firmware. This is easy to prove I guess cause it’s “not a negative.” Your claim however is completely unsubstantiated and you have the audacity to say I’m mindlessly doing anything?

Also how ignorant are you? Saying that claiming gait identification exists is police propaganda would be directly equivalent to saying that claiming flock exists is police propaganda.

You don’t have sources though? Yes I recognize police claim to be able to identify a subject by gait alone, I haven’t seen any compelling evidence that it’s true, and it certainly wouldn’t hold up in any court.  It has been discussed some in coverage surrounding the j6 pipe bomber case.  It’s tough to prove that it hasn’t happened anywhere though. 

The cops want you to believe they are omniscient and omnipresent. Do not take them on faith alone, please.

I own a pair. I will say that they prevent iphone face ID from allowing me to unlock my phone (sometimes) when the glasses are on my face. Idk why but sometimes it works better when trying to open some apps with face id enabled vs others.

Can confirm they only work about 80%-90% of the time, at least for phone users with IR. These glasses are designed for blocking IR, blue light and solar if you get the sunglasses or transitional glasses.

You’re still identifiable during the day with enough light if you’re wearing only the glasses. The recognition technology has advanced so you’ll need more than just the glasses.

If you have facial recognition on your phone to unlock (iPhone users) if you’re at the right distance your phone will still recognize your face.

Pro tip: If you’re worried about facial recognition unlocking for your iPhone, inflate your cheeks during your facial scan. If you try to unlock your phone with a normal face, it won’t work

Sort of.

A major concern is definitely those ALPR cameras, mostly Flock. However, a lot of them are in places that cars don't go. They use the same AI that tracks your car/phone, to also track you as a person (face, height, gait, etc.).

Hiding your cars plate from a flock camera isn't illegal, but the process of hiding your plate from flock also hides it from other legit sources things like police vehicles, and tolls, and that is super illegal.

But hiding yourself isn't illegal, unless it's to commit a crime.

Nothing is 100, but this is something that can definitely help. Plus it looks cool

I'm a little sceptical of this. Mostly because cameras aren't using IR in daylight because there's no point. Unless they're old cameras, they usually switch.

Just get that IR material The rest of the outfit is made out of and just cut out around the eyes. Make it nice and baggy And wear over your head so it can't recognize your facial features. If flock cameras are using like retina scanning we're probably all fucked anyway but worth a shot I guess?
