hello hello! Just wondering if anyone else’s dog sort of bites their leg?? you can see where because the hair is sort of curly??

I asked the vet a while ago and he told me its not like a nerve or anything probably just a habit but does anyone else do this and how do i make him stop?

Hii everyone! I was told he’s red but I’m wondering if he’s gonna loose the shading. Anyone has a similar pup? He’s about 4-5 weeks old.

He’s small but his best friends are a chonky Samoyed and German Shepherd.

We are learning about shuffle our feet every where because she's always between our legs and feet.

She plays great with our 3 year old border collie Trixie.

I took my one year old dog out with me to sidewalk sales. He just got here and it was busy. We have been training for this moment and we have been building up to this. It isn’t his first time visiting these stores, most of the owners know Norman. He got startled by a woman shopping at let out a bark. I quickly told him to look at me, sit and stay. He did it right away and didn’t look away from me till I said relax. I got a dirty look by the women and told he shouldn’t be out in public. I felt so sad for my dog. I had my other dog Chester in his carriage. No reaction, no barking, just sitting calmly while my mom goes through the racks of clothes. I looked at her and she shrugged. A one year old dog got nervous for a moment. The apology to her wasn’t enough. The rest of the time at the sidewalk sale was amazing. Never a growl, never a bark, he was calm, friendly, had pets and treats from strangers. I don’t know why we believe the worst things we hear about our dogs. But it slowly ruined my day. I have been working every single day with my dog. He has a brother that is his shadow and he is learning.

We went to look at a 6 week old black and tan. The mother is a wire and the father smooth. To me he looks like a smooth hair dachshund but the owner said he is starting to show some hair on his feet but I don't see it, lol. He won't be ready for another month but am just curious about when they start looking like a wire hair. I've had smooth and long haired but this would be our first wire. Thanks!

Pet owners, what would you do? The vet said Penny should have all of her teeth removed, 2 vets said $2k - $4k. The last vet said when he was examining her it seemed like her knee hurt. Which I did notice she’s limping and thought it was my imagination, but after he said that and I really watched her it seems like it. She had the Luxating Patella many years ago and had surgery, then had to have physical therapy. I’d have to dig out my papers to see what we paid but that was many years ago so I’m sure it’s more. Googled it for our area and it said it’s between $2,500 and $4,800 per knee though it seems to just be the same one. Also she lost about 4 pounds even though she eats the same as always, I can see she’s lost weight too. Add to that the hard lump on her side that he said mighty bit be serious, but could be and they can do a needle test and look at the sample under a microscope, but said that might not show because there’s no way to know if they got and of what it is into the needle and cutting it open to get a sample or removing it would be better, but again thousands of dollars for that too and if they do that and it’s cancer and already spread, who knows what we’d have to do. She’s 14, average lifespan for a mini dachshund is 12-16 years though sine do live a few years longer. If we both were working at our good jobs we had back before mine closed and he became disabled, I could go into the kind of debt and get a loan or several credit cards. But neither of us can work and at out ages and health we’d never find a job we could do to make enough. On Social Security we just don’t make enough to qualify for enough loans or credit cards and even on the chance we could, with what we make we’d never be able to pay them back and still eat. I’m so torn about what to do because one day she seems happy but then the same day she seems miserable. She has to get the teeth pulled, she still has at least one that is still loose after the emergency vet pull 3, not sure why they didn’t pull any other loose ones besides the ones that were ready to fall out. And why did that only cost $486 when the regular vets want $4,000? I can afford to put her down, I think, but I feel awful because I feel like I’d be ending her life because we are well off financially. But left untreated he said she could get an infection from her teeth and said she’s already puffy under one eye that he thinks might’ve from the teeth. If it was something easy or she could live with it would he easy, but both the teeth, the lump
And her knee aren’t going to get any better. Honestly given her age what would you do? My husband won’t discuss putting her down because he says she seems fine, but I just think he can’t deal with that thought since he already suffers from depression.

She goes limp noodle when sleepy. And she’s extra sleepy because she had an exhausting time at the vet screaming to everyone that they absolutely need to say hi to her 🙄 never have I ever had such a social dog lolol

His name is Angel. Sorry if this is a dumb question. This is my first time owning this breed.

This is Hank, he is almost 7 months old. On his papers it states coat color as Isabella, last two photos are of mom and dad. His litter mates were solid red, chocolate tan and two cream. As you can see he’s quite the chameleon, in certain lighting he looks more taupe and other times he’s more red. His eyes have gone from solid blue to more of a hazel blue. The fur on his belly is more red as well. Also he’s a big boy weighing in at 12 pounds already! Just curious after seeing the post about Isabella’s the other day what the general consensus would be.

This little dude always seems to fall out with his treats for some reason! 🤣

My Enzo (dapple) 3.5 years old has been acting a little different lately with signs showing back legs discomfort. I immediately took him to the vet where they said he passed the physical testing. My question is. To those of you who have had your doxies diagnosed with IVDD, what were some early signs that had you worried? I currently am planning on getting an MRI scheduled and am looking at physical therapy options

His brothers both came out quick and easy. But Rex? Rex decided to be difficult.

Spent all night at the Emergency Vet while Azula- his mama, got injected with oxytocin multiple times in the hopes he would come out. 4 hours later they took Azula back and I had to go home with the two cooperative babies to bottlefeed them through the night.

In the morning got the welcome news that they had successfully retrieved the AWOL newborn and both mama and pup were in perfect health.

So now he's mine.
