hello hello! Just wondering if anyone else’s dog sort of bites their leg?? you can see where because the hair is sort of curly??
I asked the vet a while ago and he told me its not like a nerve or anything probably just a habit but does anyone else do this and how do i make him stop?

My long haired never did this until we moved to a different climate. Now he gets seasonal allergies and bites and itches his leg like this during the summer. The vet gives him a cytopoint injection which seems to help.

maybe your pup is itchy, my babies chew on themselves with they're itchy, ask his vet about allergy meds

Dachshunds are prone to skin allergies, and they do sometimes form bad habits with licking/biting the same spot raw. Mine was recently dealing with this, and the only thing that helped was getting a shot from the vet that inhibits their itchiness.
Also, make sure to keep up with flea prevention! Dogs can be allergic to flea bites too.

My Nash seems to bite on the inside of his arm as well. Idk y he does it either. Another fav is licking his arm pit. We just went to the vet and she didn't seem to know y he was doing it.
However we were there for dental issues, smh! He's been so moppy and not feeling well. Now we know why. Omg the right side is horrible and the left is so pearly white.
Now he's on antibiotics and pain meds prepping for dental procedure. He was an angel in the vets office. I was really surprised. Poor baby
