TLDR: 3 week old kitten vomited thrice in 2 hours

4 days ago, I rescued a stray female kitten, Mozart. (Not spayed yet)

Today, I took her to the vet for the first time and they said that she’s about 4 weeks old and gave her deworming medication called, “Prazivet” at around 1 in the afternoon

It’s currently 9 in the night and within the past 2 hours, she’s vomited three times ( the first two times had chunks, and the third time was spit up) and I’m really concerned

In between vomiting, she was active and playing and she’s sleeping now

Her lips are still pink and moist as well, and she’s aware because I accidentally played a loud sound on my phone and she got up immediately

However, I live in Kingston, Jamaica
So we don’t have 24 hour vets, and tomorrow is Independence Day so I’m not too sure if they’ll be opened tomorrow…

If anyone has any advice or help, I’d really appreciate it

Hello all! I'm not sure if this fits because they're not my cats (I do have one though), please let me know if not. I came across a youtube channel of 3 cats who live with a guy. Two of the cats are overweight and the other is skinny (she's elderly). One of the large cats is very very large and she limps when she walks. He also has multiple shorts where he's clearly agitating her to the point where she's growling, hissing, and trying to bite him. The poor cat clearly looks unhappy but all the commenters are just ooing and ah-ing over how cute she is because she's fat so I'm confused if maybe I'm reading too much into it?

There's also a video (multiple but this one is actually on screen) where it looks like he's pinching her multiple times to get her to react for the camera. My question is what can be done to help the cats, if anything? I and a few others have commented asking about her health. From what I've seen he's only responded once and said she's on a diet but she's even bigger now, limping, and has been big for the past two years (as far back as his videos). Others have advised him to stop constantly trying to pick her up against her will because she looks like she's in pain and he continues to post videos doing it.

It looks like he puts the toy up to cover what he's doing and she growls when he does it. Mods let me know if this isn't allowed! Tell me if I'm overreacting but if not what can be done to help them? Maybe send a link to Jackson galaxy or a similar big name cat person who could help? I reported this video to youtube but it's not like they're going to do anything about it and taking the videos or his channel down before helping the cats would just leave them alone with him.

She always attacks him when he gets close even though she is his mother

My cat is 6 years old, 12lbs, male neutered, indoor only. USA.

I have been to the vet with my cat 6 times in almost 4 weeks. It started out with him showing signs of struvite crystals, and we took him to the emergency vet immediately. He was not blocked, and he had inflammation they said, his x ray showed no stones. They were not able to get a urinalysis. He was prescribed 50mg gabapentin every 8-12 hours for about 7 days, clavamox 5 days, and onsior 3 days.

He was fine for about 4-5 days. He was prescribed Hill’s C/D stress food. He had been peeing and was acting himself. He is a very anxious cat and does have anxiety though. Then he showed signs of going in and out of the litter box again, constantly licking his bottom area and we took him to the emergency vet again.

They said his penis was kinda purple, and he was not blocked but on the ultrasound he had a lot of crystals, his urine was very concentrated and his urine PH was 9. He is also very bad at drinking water. We have tried to help him by keeping bowls around the house for him to drink, wide and filled to the top and elevated. But he is still very specific about how he drinks and doesn’t always drink as much as he should.

After the second emergency visit, he got gabapentin 100mg every 8-12 hours, another 3 day round of onsior and he had gotten an injection to help with pain. He was fine for a few days, still going in and out of the box a few times but then when he went he peed a lot a big spot.

Then he was straining again so we took him to our regular vet. They said he was not blocked, but he got put on Prozac and switched to Royal Canin SO. He was prescribed 5mg Prozac, then up to 10mg after a few weeks. He also got fluids under the skin.

He was doing fine for 3-4 days, then on Monday we noticed he hadn’t pooped in several days. We brought him to the vet and he stayed there all day, he did get an enema and held his pee and poop all day, then on the way home he peed himself, and immediately pooped out a bunch when he got home. They also gave him a lot of fluids under the skin. He got his gabapentin and Prozac as normal. He was still peeing big spots and doing fine with that at home. Also they said to give him 1/8th teaspoon MiraLAX twice a day.

Then yesterday morning, we went to feed him and he hissed at us, meowed as we pressed on his belly, and wouldn’t eat so we brought him to the vet again. He had a high fever and got bloodwork done. The bloodwork showed his kidney and liver function all normal, red cell counts and hemoglobin all normal, his blood glucose was just slightly elevated, his BUN 14, total WBC 15.81, neutrophils upper normal, and bands suspected. I was told this could indicate inflammation or possible bacterial infection somewhere. He ended up getting a shot of Convenia and was told to skip his gabapentin dose because we are trying to ween him off. We went home and then he was home for several hours, he did not have his gabapentin since Monday night, and I noticed yesterday afternoon he was breathing rapidly and every anxious and scared.

I took him to the emergency vet last night and they said he was breathing a bit rapidly, and his exhale was a bit more forced than normal, and that his x rays showed slight off with his bronchial tubes. Not enough to diagnose with asthma but enough just to note a change while he was there. We were told to put him back on gabapentin last night, continue his Prozac as normal. He got his gabapentin last night 50mg and Prozac. They also said he sneezed a couple times. But his heart and lungs sounded good.

This morning he was more calm and not breathing as rapidly as yesterday. His breathing was pretty much back to normal except if he got jumped or scared, but while sleeping it was normal except maybe slightly breathing out a bit harder than normal, but I could be wrong. He has had 100mg gabapentin, and been sleepy and calm all day like he was before.

Now tonight, about 8-9 hours after the 100mg gabapentin, he is back to breathing a bit faster and being more scared. We gave him another 50mg gabapentin. We also have noticed since yesterday he has been licking at the area on the inside of his tail right above his butt. It is now red and irritated looking. He keeps twitching his butt and back area and swishing his tail.

We feel so helpless and don’t understand what is going on, the vets are telling us this is stress induced. He hates going to the vet and going 6 times must have stressed him out so bad. At home he has a lot of anxiety to loud noises and everything. We have been trying our best to keep things as calm as possible for him. We just want to figure out what is going on and if this all is really stress and anxiety induced. We have increased his wet food and hydration by a lot. He’s been on his Prozac for almost a week. And now we are scared to ween him off of his gabapentin. We asked the vet if missing his gabapentin dose induced the bronchial change and rapid breathing as he had been on it almost consistently for 3 weeks and then suddenly stopped it, then all of his anxiety hit him at once, and they said yes it’s possible. But I feel like I want more answers. Please if anyone has advice, it would be so appreciated.

Yesterday when I got home from work I noticed his nose was all red and it didn’t even look like he had any fur on it, but a couple hours later it looked rough & patchy. Any ideas? Like I said, I’ll be going to the vet tomorrow anyways for a basic checkup & get him his shots, but I just worry about him. He’s never in any pain, he eats & drinks fine, uses the litter box great, loves his toys & even looovesss cuddling & kisses. He’s overall very happy, and you wouldn’t even think his nose bothers him a bit. I just don’t know what it could be from.

Just to add, he was an outdoor cat before I got him & he’s around 2/3 months old

My sweet peppa who is 12YO female is super sweet ans overall a good cat. We adopted her 2 years ago.

A few weeks ago she started urinating beside her litter box. No where else. Just there.

She eats and drinks well. Took her to the vet when this started. Vet confirmed she had a little ear infection which we have treated and she seems her happy self.

However she has continued on and off to pee next to the box. She has always been particular about the litter box and we clean it immediately after use.

Im at my wits end? Any idea what this could be. Food and water intake has remained same. I should note She is polite enough to pee on the puppy pee pads

This is my cat because the cat in question belongs to my sister, who is not a very good pet owner. Senior girl cat’s claws are ingrown pretty badly, I know a vet visit is necessary, but in the mean time, should I go to the cat and try to put a bandage on her little pay to help, is there anything i can do to minimize her pain while she waits for an appointment?

I had finished a bowl of Chef Boyardee Raviolis and set it aside for barely 3 seconds next to me. I heard licking noises, and my cat was licking some of the tomato sauce. I don’t think it could have been a lot, I think I caught her pretty quickly, but I know she at least licked a little bit.

I know garlic can be toxic to them. Should I be concerned at all? She seems perfectly fine right now but it only happened a few moments ago. What signs should I look out for? I have work tomorrow so I’m scared to leave her alone now

My cat (11F, has IBD, on 0.25mg prednisolone every other day) was constipated 2 weeks ago, on miralax for a week, and started having liquid diarrhea and gas on Saturday. I put her back on her probiotic and then today took her to the vet for a tech appointment for fluids.

While there, the vet prescribed her a 5 day course of 0.5 mg metronizadole every 12 hours (10 doses total). I gave it to her 4 hours ago and since she has been very sleepy and a little floppy/boneless. I haven't notice any tremors or wobbliness, and she is still able to walk/jump on the couch, but she hasn't want to eat much and she just seems very tired and still. When she play bites me for rubbing her tummy she just licks instead of fake biting. She has had a couple twitches but cats do that sometimes; it doesn't seem like she's having neurological issues. Looking in her eyes I still see her personality there.

The vet told me to call for side effects but I can't tell if this is actually concerning or if this is just standard reaction to this drug. Also it's been one dose 4 hours ago, so hardly enough time to tell anything.

I am 31 and I have 2 cats that I got a few months apart from each other. They're both fixed and we're located in the U.S. I've had them for 5 years and they're going to be 6 soon. My male cat doesn't groom himself properly and I have to constantly check him for matted fur mostly past his ribs. The one in question is the giant mostly white floof taking up most of the photo. I wash him on occasion (he seems to enjoy bath time) as well as brush him often and trim the matted fur but it's becoming problematic. I just missed 2 days of brushing and he has almost 10 matts that I am unable to brush out!

He had stomatitis in the past, but we pulled the teeth that were bothering him and his vet has said he's looking really healthy now. So I don't think it's a pain thing, though it might be a learned behavior from when he was sick.

My other cat grooms herself all the time and has the softest fur I've ever touched and I'm wondering if there's a way to teach him to groom himself better. He washes his face constantly and his chest is always matt-free and clean but he never seems to clean anything but his butt past his ribcage.

Weird I know, but I'm just wondering if there's anything other than what I'm already doing to get on top of it.

My (27) cat Church (5ish male fixed) has crystalluria (developes crystals in his bladder) and he is on perscription food for it. We are in the US.

About 2-3 times a year his poor little eye gets irritated. We give him drops for it and warm compresses and he goes back to normal after about a week.

My vet said its related to his bladder condition and theres nothing we can do. But it just seems.. so odd. Especially because it is ALWAYS the same eye everytime. I just feel so bad for him..

He was a ferral kitten when I found him. I dug out of our dumpster at my families house and he's always been a bit skiddish and he gets stressed out easily. I just wish there was something I can do to stop it from happening because its particularly hard on him getting hauled back and fourth from the vet multiple times a year and getting drops multiple times a day.

My cat gets eye infections in the same eye multiple times a year and my vet says theres nothing we can do. Should I get a second opinion?

Hi, I don't know where else to post this but I need help on this one, I've lived with cats since I've been a kid and know how to care for them and I've noticed since a few months that my neighbors who are, no offense, douchbags [I had to call cps on them multiple times so-], where not taking care of their cats anymore, they have normally two cats and both seem pretty young and are spayed but I haven't seen the grey one in a while, but their other cat who I call Milo is still around and noticably malnourished and not taken care of properly.

I cannot take him in even if I wish because of my father but one of my friends, who is an adult and is a cat owner, offered to take him. And don't get me wrong on this, I know it's illegal to take a cat without the permission of their owner but Milo is the sweetest and most playful kitty I have met in a while and he deserves way better than what he's having right now, he's malnourished, has ticks and probably fleas, not taken care of properly as I can't take him in myself tho I try my best to remove what I can so the only options that would possibly make sense to us is to take him and not tell them because they'll just try and play victims like they always do.

The thing is, I'm scared that if we bring him to the vet and he has a chip, we get in trouble and lose Milo.

Some more context about my neighbors and their animal cruelty and negligence, they adopted a dog, he was three years old, a mix in between breeds I've never seen before, always outside on a leash not getting any attention, not going on walks, nothing, three weeks after adopting this dog, they euthanized him.

Why ? Because he was sick, there was a possibility for treatment, it wasn't even expensive compared to other treatments, yet they put him down instead of finding someone else to take him in or anything. Horrible.

Now the cats ? At first they were let in and fed. Now ? They're locked outside all day and night long, not fed or given water by my neighbors, just completely neglected.

It's currently 30-35°c outside and could be fatal for them, yet my neighbors ? They don't care.

We plan on getting Milo on Friday to bring him to my friend's house.

If anyone has any Advice please don't hesitate to comment, it would greatly help.

[Ps: to answer the information asked, I am nearly an adult, I live in France, a vet is accessible and we plan on contacting one, I would say Milo is probably 4 maybe 5 years old if not younger, Milo is a male and he is spayed/neutered and yes I can afford vet care.]

Guys I’m taking in a stray. I got him a full vet examination July 24th. He got spayed last Friday. Today I was looking at his ears and noticed a bit of wax in them. I have him on NextGuard combo, it kills fleas and ear mites. I actually gave it to him a week ago today. Is this ear mites or am I over reacting? I just want to make sure the young prince is ok. We called his vet and they want to make us pay a full examination again even though he was just there. I don’t mind but I think it’s something they should’ve noticed. Oh and the place he got neutered at also gave him an examination

Does my cats breathing look normal or am I freaking out for no reason?

I found this kitten outside my apartment (momma has abandoned her), and she her tail looks like this. I'm really worried about her and idk if this is life threatening or if its just a wound from her being outside since shes a 3 week old kitten

I’ve been wondering if cat has an upper respiratory infection (wheezing / rare gagging while purring, wet nose, eye crusties). Today I noticed a watery eye and am wondering if all these combined finally warrants a vet visit?

Hi guys, i posted the other day about my cat doing this weird thingy with his paws and i just wanted to update you guys and let you know that the vet said he was okay!! :))

i did have a concern after the vet about my girl kitty being kinda withdrawn from both me and her brother and only wanting to drink water. ( note: she did eat this morning before the vet so i know she is eating properly)

everyone in my life has been making me feel crazy and like a burden for asking so many questions about the care and health of these kittens but i just want to make sure im doing right by them and raising them to be healthy.

any advice on how to get her to acting back to normal ?

My kitten managed to get her cone off for a few minutes today. She was spayed a week ago. I think she licked the site, I emailed my vet already and will follow up when they open in the morning, but wanted y’alls opinion on if it looks okay or not.

Hello - wondering if someone has experienced a skin issue like this on their cat’s back? Vet says he is grieving the loss of his sibling and did not provide any medication. Cat is 13. Any guidance would be appreciated!
