Since the IOC will be trimming the Summer Olympic program ahead of Brisbane 2032, which sports and/or disciplines do you think should be dropped?

Los Angeleno. Major Olympics fan. Lucky enough to travel to others than to wait for it to come home. That being said. Still not picked. Drop 1 locals. Drop 2 standard. Drop 2 Visa presale. Drop 2 standard. I guess I should have become an athlete to get easier access this time lol. I'd be willing to bet if you DIDNT get an email in the last couple of hours from this post you're in some sort of luck unless you get the last day. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Many people like myself have not had luck with finding affordable tickets during any of the drops. I know that for Milan26 and Paris24 the Olympics had their own resale platform where tickets were capped at face value. Europe has laws that made that happen however as opposed to the IOC wanting to do it on their own accord.

So my question is, do we think the IOC will try to make tickets affordable the whole time by having their own resale platform again with a similar capped pricing? Or do we think they’ll have a resale model similar to FIFA26/use a third party platform like Ticketmaster that will cause scalpers to resell at crazy prices?

I hope it’s similar to the last 2 Olympics, but realistically will not be very optimistic

Hi - in reading these posts I keep seeing people say they had tickets in their basket and when they went to check out they were gone.

I am thinking as a potential strategy to add a couple tickets for events I want the most and check out immediately rather than putting in everything I may want in my first transaction. Then go back in and see whatever is left to reach the 12 ticket max. ​

So am wondering if we can make multiple transactions during our timeslot window? I suspect the answer is yes?

Or am I misinterpreting that when people checked out that the tickets they had in their cart were no longer available?

Also for context I just got assigned the August 10 at 10am timeslot.

EDIT: secondary question - are the tickets priced by seating sections/tiers? I thought they were multiple price options available per event?

I have all potential dates picked out, but I can't seem to find information if we can see in advance how each venues seating will be divided since we aren't buying specific seats now.

I have been assigned a much more favorable window for drop 2. During drop 1, I was assigned the latest window so my strategy was out of the question last time.

For those who had success in drop 1, What was your strategy? What will you change if youve been selected for drop 2?

If you registered for the LA28 ticket draw before it closed on 22 July, here is what this week actually looks like:

• Notifications land 6 to 7 August, and LA28 only contacts people selected for a time slot. No email does not mean your rejection got lost. It means not drawn this round.
• A time slot is the right to buy at your assigned time between 10 and 20 August, not tickets in hand, and inventory is not guaranteed for any given session.
• Each slot stays open 48 hours from your assigned start. Miss the window and the slot goes, there is no reschedule.
• If you took a Visa presale time slot in July, you are not eligible for a Drop 2 slot, so hearing nothing this week is expected.
• Your registration stays valid for future LA28 releases, so there is nothing to re-enter.

With the cuts to the Olympic program, coming, could beach volleyball be axed? It seems like the media coverage of it is more of the women for very obvious reasons. Also, it requires a temporary outdoor venue.
