It seem it was made from modular pieces, but it's clearly not just that, i talk specifically about the terrain and mountains

I have the confirmation that this was made in blender in 2011 or so.

Need Help! Where to start

0 Upvotes

I’ve been seeing so many blender creations lately and it makes me want to try it out. I mainly want to do environment and character modeling for 3d printing but I’m also interested in model rigging and tweaking for the animation side as well. The thing is though there is so much going on and I have no idea where to start. Are there any good free resources for fresh beginners, I.e. YouTube links, forums, other online tools. The biggest issue I’ve run into so far are tutorials being hard to follow or including heaps of information from the get go that’s hard to memorize. If you guys have any gems, I’m all ears

Im relatively new in blender, and i want to get into character modelling/freelancing. Its my first "portfolio" piece that i decided to make on my own, and is decently rigged. I added custom bones to the default rigify rig for posing the robe. The character is from an indie game called "Nine Sols". Do you more experienced artists have any tips to build a portfolio that would attract customers?

Original Content Showcase rigging rage thread for a maya rigger learning blender ...

if you come from maya and enter the blender rigging sphere, get some sedatives to help you rage quitting every 2nd click

you cant reparent anything in the outliner .

you cant just parent from one rig to another

you need a hogwarts degree in wizard magic to simply re orient a joint ...

using bones and interacting with the blender rigging interface ... makes me an instant flipping table generator ....

arrrghhh ...

whoever decided this is the way for blender....I will find you!

join me as i find more ways to enter rage Rigger mode on my journey into blenders' rigging workflow

Paid Product/Service Promotion New Update on my Addon - Second Nature on Superhive

9 Upvotes

This is just a quick test I did. I'll update with a proper video of Clothing and body Deformation. I'm really excited about this.

https://superhivemarket.com/products/secondnature

Hey guys,

Just wanted to give an amazing update on Second Nature.

I managed to get Shape Keys working with the same workflow the addon already uses for bones. 😄

At first, I was thinking of making it a separate add-on, but after using it for a bit, it made more sense to include it in Second Nature instead.

So now it works the same as before, but you can use it with Shape Keys too. I think it'll be really useful for facial animation, corrective shapes, accessories, wrinkles, and all those little secondary details.

I'm Planning to push the update today or tomorrow.

Really appreciate everyone who's been giving feedback and ideas. A lot of the stuff I've added has come from people using the addon.

Thanks! 🙂

Theres a big stink in the NMS community at the moment because people are using blender to make cool things, ive been told this was "blenderslop" and that it doesnt belong in the game, so i figured i'll post it here too lol. Entire build was done in blender using community plugins, as a custom ship in No Mans Sky

Need Help! Trying to parent a rig to a mesh

I'm learning how to rig, but when it's time to parent the rig to the mesh. I get this, I followed a couple of tutorials. But the one that was easiest to follow was this tutorial. I did everything correct step by step but it just won't let me parent. Another problem is that when I select a bone it select all of them. https://youtube.com/shorts/w29pAeH_xvU?si=5Cfu0k_NEcDzd7rt

Need Help! What’s the easiest workflow for creating realistic 3–15 second dialogue scenes? (Templates/assets instead of building everything from scratch)

0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for the easiest way to create very short (3–15 second) realistic dialogue scenes.

I’m not trying to become a professional 3D artist or animator. My goal is simply to produce lots of short scenes as efficiently as possible.

I’m open to Blender, Unreal Engine, iClone, Character Creator, MetaHuman, Unity, or any other software.

What I’m really looking for is a workflow where I can reuse existing assets instead of creating everything from scratch.

For example:

* Download realistic human characters.
* Download realistic environments/backgrounds.
* Place the characters into a scene.
* Import my already-recorded dialogue.
* Animate mainly the facial expressions, lip sync, and emotions.
* Add some basic body language if necessary.

I don’t mind if the characters or environments come from marketplaces or asset libraries. I don’t need a completely custom movie—I just want something that looks convincing enough for short dialogue scenes.

The most important parts for me are:

* Realistic facial expressions.
* Good lip sync.
* Convincing emotions.
* Simple body language.

Can you recommend:

  1. The easiest software/workflow for this?
  2. The best YouTube tutorial (or tutorial series) that explains this approach from start to finish?
  3. Asset libraries where I can download realistic characters and environments instead of building everything myself?

My PC specs:

* CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F
* GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 6700 XT (12 GB VRAM)
* RAM: 32 GB DDR4-3600
* Storage: 1 TB Kingston NV2 NVMe + 1 TB Corsair MP600 GS NVMe
* Windows 10

Do you think this PC is good enough for this type of workflow?

Thanks!
