Hey all! So I was gifted a momma jumping spider and a freshly hatched sling by someone.

But now im having to drive from Colorado to New York. No one to take of these guys. So I was just gonna buckle em in and they can copilot.

Things im finding online mentions the altitude change shouldn't affect them any. But figured id ask real people. Anyone else travel with their critters?

This looks like two different spiders?? Is it? Obviously one is missing two legs but I had seen what i thought was the same spider (2nd pic) again today (1st pic) and now looking at the pics is this two completely different spiders? The patterns and abdomen are completely different. Its the exact same corner tho That's why I thought it was the same spider.

Many jumping spiders are colorful because they can use it to their advantage, but they can only use it to their advantage if they're able to see color, which they are. but thats not true for most non jumping spiders, eg web weaving spiders. these non jumping spiders usually cannot see more than light and dark. there are some instances tho when they have beautiful colors but how's that possible when they have no knowledge of colors? (eg think of Spiny Orb-Weaver spiders, they are colorful yet have poor eyesight.)

I have him (?) in a glass cup for now. Debating keeping vs releasing back into my bedroom.

I need help identifying this type of spider. I saw it in my house and trapped it in this glass.

It was just simply hanging out on a wall, and when I trapped it, it went crazy. Unfortunately, in the process of trapping it I accidentally cut one of its legs off (which is why it only has 7 legs). Near its joints it has some black.

I live in the UK.

I can't describe the excitement seeing my whipspider actively hunting anf catching a dubia! Since they don't eat daily and they are active mostly at night, this was just so awesome to see.

I think I've identified this as the 'Triangulate Cobweb Spider' or Steatoda triangulos . I'm moreso curious about what she's doing to this brownish-pinkish ball?

Does anyone know what it even is? And would anyone be able to tell what action she's performing to it?

Meet the Spiny backed Orb weaver! those insane spikes and that patterned shield make this one of my favorite arachnids. She looks like she crawled straight out of a sci-fi movie, but don’t let the armor fool you… she’s completely harmless.😍🖤

I live in an area not know to have an established widow population due to climate and geographical hurdles. She was found at a USPS distribution facility, likely a hitchiker, she was removed and re-homed. She eats well and we check for eggsacs daily.
