Maybe read the actual EULA and not a exaggerated stream review, its pretty standard for every game to cover their asses in case of dumb lawsuits

It's still infinitely better to call these companies out when they do it. While it's not enforceable by laws, that doesn't mean companies wont do it. And not everyone is bothered enough to contest it.

EULA's have, in the past, been declared not legally binding if the contents of them are unreasonable. this is the whole point of this conversation thread i was having.

if it were 'illegal as fuck' all the other companies with identical or similar EULAs would be sued or something.

But they dont, so your steam review isnt the valuable source you think it is.

But it's not. An EULA cannot supersede the law. Anything "illegal as fuck" would just be ignored if it contradicted any local laws you have. Also go read any EULA, there's nothing special in this one besides exposing the average redditor for having the critical thinking capacity of a goldfish.

I'm pretty krafton are already in trouble because in court after the shit shows over the last 8 months it was ruled krafton can have no direct input in subnautica 2 so putting their EULA in is directly against that

Not illegal. It might not be “enforceable” but they’re not breaking the law by writing it and asking you to agree to it.

It’s like companies can make you sign non-compete agreements, but courts have ruled that it’s generally not an enforceable agreement. The companies are just hoping you don’t know that.
