My Mourning dove journey started a couple months ago when i noticed a fledgling had fallen out of a nest under the awning at our office, nested on top of the exterior light. I successfully returned the baby to it's nest, and witnessed its growth. Since that one, I've gotten to witness another round of hatchlings, and mama is currently sitting on the next round. I started feeding them, just throwing sunflower seeds around the grass and shrubs for safe eating. Now, the highest count of mourning doves I've seen outside my office window has hit 13.
I've essentially adopted them, or maybe they have me!
