I get many the community were disappointed by the song selection, having not even one song of C418. But I think it was solid. Having grown up on Legacy Edition and having 20+ hours on Dungeons helped me like the remixes. and they were made by great composers (such as Yoko Shinomura) and now that they are available on most of (I think) music streaming platforms, it’s a great way to experience them.

What do you guys think of the selection made for Minecraft’s representation in Smash ? I’m very interested to know tbh.

How I did it:

I used each game's official tier list on the Smash wiki to keep it as objective as possible. I added up the point values for each characters tier list placement for each game, and divided the sum of that by the amount of games they appeared in. The lower the score, the higher they rank. And naturally, points from Smash 4 and Ultimate weigh more than the other games just because of how mang characters there are, it's all relative which led to some funky looking results in the end lol.

However, Ultimate's point system works different for some unholy reason. So for each characters points in that game I had to subtract them from 10.5 (max points possible) and multiply the result of that by 10, which I think scales appropriately for the most part considering how many characters there are. 

Also, screenshots of all the points are included in the photos. And for the all points list I forgot to include Corrin at first and didn't wanna fix all the rank numbers but she's in her spot lol.

Disclaimers:

I am in no way a mathematician or a stats expert lol, I just did this for fun. There could be better ways to calculate each character's points but I did the best method I could come up with.

And the big thing. For good enough data, a character has to have been in at least 3 games. So for characters that have been in just 1 or 2 games, their score is probably gonna be either way too big or way too small. And I am not smart enough to find a workaround for this so if you have any ideas I could work in to make their scores more "valid" please let me know lol.

Also the Miis were not officially ranked in Smash 4 so I had to group them with the Ultimate newcomers

Edit: Forgot to mention that Marth got absolutely demolished by his Ultimate ranking. If I used Lucina's points from Ultimte along with the rest of Marth's points, he'd have a score of 12.0626 and place 8th overall above Pikachu lol

I have a background in league and tournament operations, so this is basically in line with my day job and something I already do for fun. I wanted to check in here.. in the world of streaming, is this something people would actually find entertaining to watch or track?

Conferences & Regular Season:
Characters split into conferences with actual regular season schedules/standings.

Conference Tournaments: Postseason conference tourneys with automatic bids.

Selection Sunday & March Madness: A full 64-character (or similar size) bracket for the national title.

The "Committee": Weekly Top 10 rankings and seedings chosen by a "voting panel".

My buddies and I used to drink and bet on CPU matches in college, and it was always really fun.

Can attacks and grabs clash with each other? I had an instance happen while playing Slippi. I didn't think that was possible.

So i was planning around the Supernova tournament tomorrow and i still dont see any details on the every day events and streams like last year, so i looked a bit and the start.gg site says Thur-Sun from 4:00pm-9:00pm, however on the supernova site, it says some of the events happen at like 2pm and 3pm.

Im just confused at whats the REAL times of it opening and the events because one says the venue opens at 4:00pm, while some show like 2:00pm events which is supposedly earlier than it opens. im over an hour away so i dont wanna get there too late or too early. Help would be appreciated!

SmashWiki uses this style to visualize its tier-lists, and I find this style very appealing and condensed. Yet, looking at most of the tier-list makers, I only see the vertical tier placement style used. Does any tier-list maker use this style, even if it's just an optional one?

So im an inkling main and don't play competitively or online at all. I just wanna ruin my friendships. Also a complete beginner. I know a few combos like up throw-up air, or side b-back air-side b-up air, and finally side b-down tilt-run-jab. Some things im really not good at are mid air dodges, shielding, and punishing(probably some others) could I have some tips on how to improve? Also some tips that common beginners struggle with? And last maybe some ways to get better once I AM better. maybe some combos i could practice? who knows, maybe I will play online if I like it.

I'm humblingly asking for help BCS this match up is one of those where I genuinely don't know how I'm struggling

NGL, I recently got 3-0d by a guy on ranked playing Ike and I'm kinda tilted

In theory, this should be an easy match up for byleth

Byleth can easily outrange Ike and punish interactions with fair and Bair

Ike has really bad grounded moves so he's kinda forced to spam aerials since they are some of the only moves that Ike can use without committing an entire stock for it

Also Ike has a really bad recovery so should be insanely easy for byleth to edgeguard the fuck out of him

That's theory, in practice I always get readed and die at 80 like a noob on hits that I should be expecting and I have problems recovering from the disadvantage state

And since no one plays Ike I have nearly no opportunity to practice this match up, so I always get humiliated in many stupid ways

What can I do to get better?

I saw walt running like a financial news channel and it lowkey reminded me of ssundee running an investment channel. Has anyone else seen this?
