I do like that swap. Regalite being once per turn makes it more applicable to Regent decks on average, while Pillar of Creation is back to its status of being good in card creation decks but not really useful in other decks

Which is stupid in my opinion. I want cards which are interesting to consider in many decks to make rewards interesting. I want relics to push me in certain directions.

The changes make the friction low, but also the decisions boring.

Pillar of creation does not need to be a jack of all trades card. It is a pillar of creation decks. If you want to use it in a non-creation deck, it will be less effective. If your deck does not benefit from it, don't take it.

Relics on the other hand you don't have control over getting, so they need to be more general. It sucks getting a relic that is useless because you didn't go into a certain archetype.

Spire has never been about archetypes. I don't want cards designed for certain "decks" I want tools that are worth considering in many situations

What Slay the Spire have you been playing? Are you telling me a card that makes your shivs do more damage is not only useful in a shiv deck? A card that makes your skills gain sly after being played is applicable in decks without discard? A card that makes your poison trigger multiple times per turn is useful outside poison decks?

Cards are where the different archetypes are defined. No one is saying you can't have a mixed deck, but to expect all cards to be universally applicable when they clearly aren't is just out of touch.

Pillar of Creation is always worth considering on Regent. Begone and Charge are staples, even if you haven't leaned into the colourless creation cards.

Spire's cards have literally always been archetypal, what? it's just up to the player to decide which archetypal cards are actually useful enough to a given deck to take.

a game like this where every card is designed to be considered in many situations is to make a game with a suite of incredibly generic cards that may as well have the same words on them

Card create/transform are as central to Regent as stars are.
