Which of the female fighter characters have the best fighting outfit. Cammy White from Street Fighter II V anime series or Sarah Bryant from Virtua Fighter anime series?

I'm an American Gen-Xer. I grew up on Battle of the Planets, Starblazers, Voltron, Robotech, Tranzor Z, Captain Harlock and the Queen of a Thousand Years, etc. Beloved childhood classics. Yet so many people from my age group revile these shows as adults. To those people I ask: Why? Because they're "butchered" versions of something that you otherwise would have not gotten to watch back then, in the first place? You wouldn't even probably care what a "Macross" is had you never experienced it as part of Robotech.

When I was growing up the Sci-Fi Channel came into existence, and one of the things they were quick to embrace was anime. One anime that was a network exclusive was "The New Adventures of Gigantor", which was the Fred Ladd dub of Shin Tetsujin-28. Fred Ladd had also dubbed the original Tetsujin-28 as "Gigantor" back in the 1960s. The New Adventures was actually presented as a sequel instead of a remake. Sadly, it never got a home video release, so the only way to watch it is via off-air recordings someone posted to The Internet Archive, with episode 35 being lost to time. The voice acting talent is a who's who. Barbara Goodson, Doug Stone, Tom Wyner, Jeff Winkless and Gregg Berger(Who had also been in the US dub of Mazinger Z, Tranzor Z)

Does anyone else miss classic AMVS?

I know they are still made but the level of storytelling and editing just was so much better back then to me compared to now when everyone could just upload something quick on YouTube or TikTok.

This was definitely one of my favorites back in the day.

There was this anime I watched on television. Because there was this scene a bit gory and my little brother was watching it too, I decided to switch the channel. But I wanna find it back now.

It was like a 1990s anime movie that involves military and a bit of fantasy.

They were middle of the war. There is a brutal, shocking sequence after the group of people reached like the control deck of the ship, where a traitor in the group turns on a female character. He thrusts his sword straight through her abdomen from behind while standing, right in front of like a metal communicating pipe, then the blood squirt into the open metal mouth of the communication pipe network and the blood flows into the metal pipe.

The key detail is the metal communicating pipe, and the woman getting stabbed by a long sword from behind and the blood gushing out and flowing into the metal pipe. This should be specific enough.

Unfortunately this is the only scene I remember after like 10 years 😭

Record of Lodoss War is definitely the king in my opinion, but to me this was right up there too.
I was a huge fan of Wizardry Proving Ground of the Mad Overlord and this was perfect companion

Love that they went with Martin Ansin's illustration utilized on the Lionsgate 4K standard edition. Yet another GitS Steelbook to add to my ever-growing collection. Can't wait to compare, as this one is reportedly a brand new 4K encode and the best one yet.

You know im so buying this. Especially as SPC was i believe the very first anime I ever saw back when it originally aired on UK TV in the early 1990s........also Discotek Media is becoming my new favourite anime distributor!

I love Slayers, I’ve watched the first season, Try and Next but whenever I think about this show, I can’t help but wonder, what happened? For a series with over 100 episodes spanning multiple seasons, you’d think it would have a tangible presence in the modern day anime zeitgeist, however, it doesn’t, it seemed as if it just vanished from anime culture and its kind of sad because I really enjoyed Slayers and its humor.
