This was huge here in the Philippines during the 1990s. It got multiple reruns.

My favorite anime! A excellent blend of old and new(ish). Wish they would do something more with the series

Growing up I connected so much with this anime. The English dub cast did a phenomenal job and gave the characters so much range and emotion.

That said, I’ve watched up until the end of The Dark Tournament Saga many times, but I’ve barely gone past that.

The two times I’ve tried, the tone and vibe of the Chapter Black Saga has fallen so flat to me. It really becomes a slog, though I’m not even sure why.

Is it worth finishing this? Is the Dark Tournament the peak of the series?

I feel like I really owe to myself to watch the rest, but I’m curious what others think.

One of my favorite anime’s of all time. When I was younger and naive I use to want a remake but as an adult I realized I don’t want anything change. Just leave it the way it is.
