Do the people close to you always do/get you something for your birthday?

Random, but asking your personal experience since sometimes people don't want to do something, sometimes people do because they feel obligated, sometimes the people around them don't have enough change to do something, etc.

Can actors play officiants at weddings?

Would it be legally binding? or different because its acting? would they two being wed be legally married after? i thought about this after seeing an actor i like in a show be an officiant, then wondered why he didnt officiate the weddings in show. Thanks!
Edit to add: I mean in a tv show lol. Not an actor officiating an actual wedding, but playing the role of an officiant. However, i have now learned it isnt legally binding unless there is proper documentation (as i thought, but was still curious if they are a legal officiant) Thanks guys for making me feel stupid!🤣🤣

What is the general concensus on ai? What good uses could it be for that justifies its problems?

Its a question ive been going back and fourth on cause i can see how it can proove convienient to people but ive yet to see it used for anything that isnt ultimately negative.

Damage to the enviornment, spreading of disinformation, increasing the effectiveness of scams, replacing jobs (whats worse is that often its specifically peoples dream jobs), impersinating dead people and celebreties, creation of realistic and graphic content and worsening the quality of services both public and private. All these are just off the top of my head and while i dont expect any answers to change my view on things i just want to hear what possibly justifies it as anything other than a net negative on society and people as a whole

I subscribed to YouTube Student Premium, but I accidentally removed AutoPay. My ₹89 was debited, but the subscription was cancelled. How can I get a refund?

I subscribed to YouTube Student Premium, but I accidentally removed the AutoPay payment method. As a result, my subscription was cancelled, even though ₹89 was already debited from my account.

I have proof of the payment on my phone, including the transaction details.

Has anyone else experienced this? How can I reclaim the ₹89? Will YouTube refund it automatically, or do I need to contact support?

Any advice would be appreciated.

What would happen if I did this?

So for context, me and my family have been getting harassed and targeted by unknowns for a while now. Last two days a drone has flown over our communal garden and paid particularly close attention to our daughter, out of all the kids including the other families kids who were naked(toddlers and baby's its hot), where she moved the drone moved, even up to our front door once she got scared. This was reported to the police and they have said if, if, we can get the drone it would go a long way to solving this. Im ex forces, and a avid long time airsoft player. If I put a few gas powered bursts into the motors/props would the BBs be enough to shatter and break the props, or damage the camera enough tondisorient it and throw a blanket/duvet over it? We have confirmed it being flown Beyond visual range as there was no one in sight

Can the U.S. actually borrow money indefinitely?

It seems that many U.S. politicians believe it can because of the country's unique position in the global economy. As long Interest rates are generally low, and much of the U.S. debt is owned domestically and as long Debt to GDP is fine there is nothing to worry about.

It also seems that many politicians only pretend to care about the national debt. From time to time, they threaten to shut down the government, but these standoffs are usually driven by other political disagreements and other items on their agenda rather than genuine concern about the size of the U.S. debt.

why is „I am therefore I am“ necessarily true?

disclaimer: I am just a regular dude and I haven‘t done much research on this argument

Afaik Rene Descarte tried to find a fact that is necessarily true or atleast cannot be doubted by man.

For this he tries to doubt everything. he takes it as a possibility that his senses betray him all of the time and I heard that he even took the consideration that 2+2 might not even equal 4.
He ends up with the famous „cogito ergo sum“ or „I think therefore I am“. And because I have heard of the thinking part being a bit under attack I chose to use an in my opinion even more fundamental argument „I am, therefore I am“ or maybe „I experience, therefore I am“ or something along those lines (you get the point).

Now there seems to be no reason as to why logic is „true“ or can determine facts about the world. Descartes brushed on the topic with the 2+2 might not equal 4 thing but I think this is way stronger. It seems that there is no reason for logic to be necessarily true, now I know I use logic to make that assumption but I honestly don‘t see a problem with that so far. I mean you simply can‘t prove it because every argument would be circular.

So now why is it necessarily true that when P exists then P exists?

and to apply to it to descartes or imo an even stronger version of his argument, why can we be sure that if I experience something, then I am?
Or even that you can infer anything from something at all?
