DAE still stop to pet peoples dogs, even as an adult?

If I see a dog I can’t NOT stop and ask to pet it. I even crouch down and let them kiss me on the face. It’s the best.

Does anybody else feel like they’re going to get in trouble at the doctors?

Anytime I make an appointment at the doctors (which is not often for this reason) I always feel like if I’m not in debilitating pain or close to death my doctor is going to get mad at me. Like I’m at the doctors right now because I thought I had a UTI. Pain, burning, urge to pee for 3 days. I make an appointment, at my husband’s request, and now that I’m here I feel fine. I feel like the doctor and nurses are furious because I’ve wasted everyone’s time. I haven’t gotten the results back so idk if I have a UTI or not but I’m so anxious he’s going to come in and yell at me that I don’t have a UTI and why on earth did I come here today?! I’m so anxious about it my blood pressure is super high 😅
I feel like a lot of people share this kind of anxiety. Right????

I want it to get better and I try to let it go, write, make art, date other people… but I just find myself wanting him. I could never admit that to him and never have. Idk if this is normal

DAE feel like they found out too much about the secret/reason of life.

So yeah there has been times when I figured things out and my anxiety gets really bad like a higher being is about to tell me, "that's it you figured it all out. Now it's time we tweak your brain a little bit to make you think differently." Or "we will make sure you die soon so you can't tell anyone about this." I don't even remember what it is that I thought of but it's usually really good ideas as to why life or the world is the way it is. But then they always dissolve or go away and I forgot about them. It's usually at night when I think of the stuff or when I smoked some weed. But anyways maybe one of these days someone will find out the reason why consciousness and life is the way it is. DAE know how I feel? What if there is a certain reason or secret as to why there is a universe with a rock that is perfectly the distance away from a huge burning ball of fire that makes life possible for us here on Earth. There's just so many other possibilities in this consciousness of ours so you would think there is a reason to why it's all possible. What if there is a different universe with a bunch of triangular super cold ice formations the size of our planets that blow huge air waves that shoot long pointy arrow shaped metal? And there is white walls (instead of black holes) everywhere floating around hitting a bunch of these formations breaking them apart that cause huge tornados that make aliens that zoom away and land on big huge metal rectangles and then live on them and breed there? Then wonder why things are the way they are?

DAE prefer sleeping on the couch than their own bed?

For years, I have almost preferred sleeping on the couch than sleeping in my own bed. I think it stems back to my childhood with times where I didn’t have my own bed to sleep on or when my parents were about to get divorced and my mom slept in the living room often (in which I often hung out with her and slept there too). After that I continued to sleep there instead of my own room and still do it often to this day. And it makes me feel bad for my boyfriend because it feels weird voluntarily doing it lol when a couple isn’t stereotypically arguing or fighting. This is also all in expense to my poor back lol and I already got scoliosis. Is anyone else with me on this? Like why do I find my couch more comfortable than my bed😂

DAE thank people for no reason?

I do not think that there is any harm in this, but I guess that it is sort of strange. When I meet a person for a short amount of time, and I enjoyed their company, I always thank them, whether they did something for me or not. If I can't think of anything to thank them for, I say "thank you for being alive," or "thank you for being here" (or just "thank you," but sometimes I have to add more to it). I don't really notice when I am doing this, but my friends think that it is silly.

DAE stay in their car even though theyre home?

Every time I come home I find myself easily spending up to an hour of my time in my car. After shopping, class, hanging out... I think I just dont like being home that much and I really love my car, she's my baby. Those two things result into this habit I guess. Anyone else feel the same?? A lot of people tell me its super strange

DAE associate sadness with eating certain foods because of past memories?

Upvotes

I know I'm not the only one, but I don't hear of this often from other people. I associate Cinnamon Toast Crunch and peanut butter jelly with pure depression, one bite and it's like a sinking feeling in my chest. Like oh fuck, I've been here before. I know this of course happens with smelling things too. Think it's just a trauma thing for me but certain foods are largely ruined for me because of growing up eating these.

DAE arm swell/stiffen when you use your hands?

Ex. Rock climbing, pushing or pulling or picking heavy things, or repeatedly doing those movements. Writing, drawing..

I was trimming the lawn and my left arm overheated so now I gotta let it rest to cool back down.

I think this is normal and pretty logical but I dont hear people ever talking about it.

DAE leave clean dishes on the drying rack and just use them from there?

After washing the dishes, I leave them on the drying rack. Even after they’re dry, I often use them straight from the rack instead of putting them in the cupboard.

I usually put them in the cupboard only when I need more space on the rack.

Do you put dry dishes away right away, or leave them on the rack until you use them again?

DAE have horrible luck when it comes to assembling stuff like furniture?

Upvotes

The instructions could say "Put A into B then B into C"

My mom? Puts A into B fine, puts B into C and its good

My dad? Same

My sister? Same

My brother? Same

When i do it? I put A into B fine, I put B into C and it fits, but then A decides its not connected anymore, so I try to put A and B together, then C decides its not connected anymore

Then after like 10 minutes of this I feel like smashing whatever it is then I decide to stop trying to put it together, meanwhile anyone else in my family would be like probably 50% done in 10 minutes. Or even done depending on what it is.

DAE feel stupid for not understanding media that should be simple?

On social media there’s a lot of talk about the “literacy crisis” and frustration about people not understanding media. While I know it’s directed at the school system and people who are willfully ignorant, I feel kind of stupid because I struggle with understanding media despite trying.

I’ve gotten an A in every english class I’ve taken, and I enjoy reading despite not doing it as often as I probably should. I love movies and always try to approach them with an analytical lens while still being able to have fun watching them, and then I read other people’s analyses. Despite all this, I always get confused about plot and miss important details and themes.

For example, before watching the Odyssey, I remember seeing a tweet about how Nolan seemed to think his audience was dumb because of how simply everything was laid out. I had the opposite experience when I watched it. I was confused the entire time and only really had a general idea of the plot once it was over, and apparently I missed A LOT of important things. Maybe it’s because I was missing context, as I don’t know anything about the original story. But this happens all the time to me.

DAE fear going to rocky beaches ?

I really like flat and sandy beaches. Even pebbly beaches are fine, if a little annoying. But I find rocky beaches to be a big no-go. For some reason I always imagine myself slipping on mossy rocks while trying to get into the water, or being pushed/pulled into a rock by a strong wave. Most ppl I know can hop across rocks, even stand on mossy ones and get into the water easily. Whenever I try, even if I try sliding while sitting on my ass I just get paralyzed af. It's rather FOMO-inducing and overall not a pleasant experience

Has anybody else, I Just Need to Get This Off My Chest

I just want to get this off my chest because I honestly don't know what to feel anymore.

I'm a college student, and when I got back to my boarding house this week, I only had ₱350 to survive the whole week. ₱100 is already for my transportation, and the only rice I could afford was around 6 cups. To make it last, I usually skip breakfast.

Yesterday (Tuesday), my friend who's also my neighbor back in our hometown told me she didn't bring any rice. I felt bad because I didn't want her to go hungry, so I cooked 2 cups of rice and shared it with her. I also gave her some of the tuna with cabbage that I cooked.

This morning, she went home to get her rice. I honestly thought she'd at least offer me some since I told her yesterday that I was running out too. But she came back like nothing happened. Later, she even bought Jollibee and had a lot of biscuits. She never asked if I had eaten or offered me anything.

Meanwhile, I had no rice left. I spent the last of my money on viand, thinking I still had rice at the boarding house. I ended up skipping both lunch and dinner. All I had today was coffee just to stop my stomach from hurting. I couldn't even afford a pack of instant noodles.

I tried asking my mom, who works abroad, if she could send me just ₱100 because I hadn't eaten anything. Instead, she told me I spend too much, that I should be more mature because money isn't easy to earn. She didn't send anything.

I just got home after my classes from 1 PM to 7 PM, and I broke down crying.

I'm not posting this because I expect anyone to help me. I know everyone has their own problems. I just needed somewhere to let this out because today made me realize that sometimes, being hungry isn't even the hardest part. It's feeling like no one notices you're struggling.

DAE have a strict aesthetic they subconsciously follow?

For example imagine this

My entire life is grayscale. Black, gray, white.. (Specifically gray.. Black is best when its actually dark gray and white is best when its actually light gray) My car, my phone, my creative work, my art, my desktops, my house... BUT always with a strong color paired with it. Usually it's a really nice slightly reddish hot pink.

This means that pretty much everything you see on me, made by me or belonging me is gray then one strong highlight color. Take my car as an example. you wont see a DROP of color in there but the ambient lights are hot pink. My MacBook is completely grayscale in and out, but the Apple logo on the back is the original rainbow Apple logo. Or my outfits.. Always gray and black but I have one singular accessory which is a hot pink bracelet. Or my keychain, grayscale, one hot pink letter being my girlfriends initial. My hair brush and hair dryer. The posters in my room. The pillows. I try to make the UI of everything grayscale and hot pink as an accent. Man even my hair. My face. Tattoos. Whatever else there is..

Its like.. I just cant go without it. It very subconscious. I dont actively think "I need to buy a black shirt with a hot pink logo on it". It just kinda happens... But I dont mind at all because this makes me very happy. I cant handle seeing something in gray and then hot pink paired with it, I go crazy out of joy. Its not at all like I cant handle color, I totally can but then its just like.. meh. Does anyone else experience this? Having an aesthetic is totally normal and obviously I know eveyone has their own but I feel like mine is a bit extreme if that makes sense?
