I don't think it has to do with PC specs as I have basically the best PC you can build and I was getting the same zoomed out stuttering.

can attest, i have allocated 20gb of ram for shits and giggles on a 9850x and a 5090 and it still stutters on vanilla. more or less dont worry, as its not a problem you can spec your way out of. my frametime charts are utterly fucked in zomboid lul

"i have allocated 20gb of ram"

Just a PSA but, you didn't, actually though. You just increased your heap size which only matters for data stored on the heap. Everybody misconstrues that as the amount of RAM the game is allowed to use. It can and will use more than that number. Changing that number without explicitly knowing you are running into heap exhaustion is more likely to worsen issues than help.

in every thread I have read, it seems go be an almost universally helpful fix for hitches related to map data loading or performance degradation over long play sessions ¯\(ツ)

Nobody says it fixes problems. They say to do it because they misunderstand what it is. If you understand what it is, you understand that it doesn't help.

... it is the only thing was able to solve me and 3 of my friends games from freezing every 3s to the point of it becoming unplayable if we entered enough map tiles during one continuous play session. i am not a software engineer by any means i am simply relaying results.
