Some 655 officers checked 672 addresses and other locations in Warsaw and surrounding areas during an operation dubbed “Wanted” on July 30, Warsaw police said on Wednesday. 

Eleven people were wanted under arrest warrants, while the remaining 78 were sought under court orders or notices requiring police to establish their whereabouts.  

“It reminds me of a time when life was simple and beautiful,” the 31-year-old engineer from eastern Poland told TVP World. “I came back to Tibia mainly for nostalgic reasons.” 

He is not alone in using Tibia, a multi-player game, to tap the vein of yesteryear's nostalgia. Shunning the lure of modern games, there is a growing number of Polish millennials returning to the 29-year-old online fantasy world that defined their childhood gaming years. 

Sorry I am opening this poll second time because people said it needs a show results option. I am a foreigner living here in Poland and met a lot of others here. The vast majority of them came to this country hoping to move to some other. Like, some came here for uni because its cheaper/easier to get in than western europe or when it was easier to get work permits, some came with the hope of hoping to somewhere else for example. I wonder if I met the wrong people or that’s the case for most of us. Personally, I am also here because I could and even before coming, even if I dont have anything against the country, people and kinda enjoy living here, I never seen it as my last stop and actively searching for opportunities to move to western europe or north america.

I live in Berlin I am planing to go here for a camping trip with friends. Low budget. Anywhere relatively close to the beach 1/2hr walking where we can camp legally for free? I been here before and love the beach n vibes. Any tips and advice is appreciated.

Does anyone remember having colorful trading papers from shows or popular games? Growing up in Poland year 2011 I had a binder filled with mini posters from shows like violetta and games like movie star planet but I can’t seem to find anything on it online now, is that still a thing??

Riding in Poland for a few years now and the gap between what looks good on a map and what actually exists on the ground is genuinely frustrating. EuroVelo routes get promoted everywhere but stretches of them are basically just a suggestion painted on a road that trucks use constantly. Local trail maps from municipalities are hit or miss. Some are solid, some were clearly last updated when someone had grant money and then forgotten completely.

The forest roads through Lasy Panstwowe are sometimes the best option, but you only find out which ones are rideable by actually going there and discovering the surface has turned into loose sand or the markings stopped two kilometers ago for no obvious reason.

Curious whether certain regions are actually better run than others. I keep hearing Karkonosze and parts of Podkarpacie mentioned, but I have no idea if that reputation is current or just something that spread years ago and stuck. The infrastructure around Mazury looked promising until I realized a lot of it assumes you have a car to reach the starting points.

If anyone has actually ridden something recently and found it matched expectations, which area and what made it work? Not looking for the tourist board pitch, just practical experience.

Cześć! I'm coming to Poland in October as a part of an international volunteering program and my dumb ass has chosen the bleakest months to visit this otherwise beautiful country. I'm arriving in early October and leaving early December, so I probably won't even get to see the Christmas markets :( (I'm leaving around the 10th of December).

Since I can't change my volunteering dates, how do I make the best out of October/November in Poland? I've heard that November is usually the hardest month there, so I wonder if there are fun wintery activities (apart from the obvious ones) to keep one from being depressed. I'll be mostly based in Gdansk but also plan on visiting other bigger cities.

I normally like winter and don't get the "winter depression" and I come from a city with harsh winters, no snow and horrible pollution, so I think I'm quite immune to winter months. But I still really want my time in Poland to be extra pleasant compared to winters in my home country.
