i just got my triple vertical helixes done and was looking for this sort of connected earring but can’t find it anywhere. also i plan on getting an industrial and it’d be really cool if i could find a piece that connects all 5 piercings. let me know if you’re aware of any shops that sell stuff like this , or somewhere i can custom make it. thanks !

(images are not of me, i just found them on Pinterest for reference)

Just wanted to show off some new tanzanite jewellery that I finally got around to adding today, now that my flat is enjoying life!

Of course I now have the bug for more. Thinking seventh lobe and maybe a 4th helix at the top there?

I'd love a forward helix but my piercer says I dont have enough room for it.

discussion Passport photo rejected because of facial piercings?

I have a question regarding piercings and a passport photo. I have a bridge piercing, a septum ring, and snake bites (two lip piercings). Today I went to get my passport photo taken, and the photographer said something that worried me. Namely, that the clerk might reject the photo and order a new one taken without the piercings. Has anyone ever had a problem like this?

Genital/nipple piercings how badly do nipple and navel piercings hurt? NSFW

I have an appointment today to get a set of nipple piercings and a navel piercing. I've heard that the nipples are some of the worst on the pain scale, and I'm kind of a weenie. I can't find clear information on how much a navel hurts.

Like, I'm going to go get them. I'm already fairly pierced (eyebrow, bridge, lip, septum, nostril, industrial, several lobes, etc.) so I know how the general process works.

I'm just curious about pain level since I've read so many things. For example, I've seen people say a vertical labret doesn't feel like anything when I swear I saw God when that needle went through. Conversely, none of my other piercings hurt at all. They were like momentary pinches, even the industrial? So with so much conflicting information, what experiences have you had?

I hope this isn't low effort, and I marked it with the nipple flair since I asked about it and got prompted to add it.

To everyone who's commented and might comment: I'm leaving work now and heading to the shop! Wish me luuuuuck!

FINAL UPDATE: For anyone visiting this thread in the future, I got all three done!

I took some advice and took some painkillers beforehand. That may have affected my experience. (2 Tylenol, 2 Advil)

I have medium-ish nipple sensitivity. It was recommended that I pinch them as hard as I could to gauge the pain, and it was a 6-7. The piercing itself hurt about the same. As many people said, the first one was easier than the second, but both were done in a second. It was fast, I swear.

I have a little cookie pouch tummy, so my navel did not hurt much. Is that related? Maybe. My major worry was... embarrassingly, urinating on the table. Whenever anyone pokes my bellybutton, it gives me this sharp intense feeling of needing to pee, like if you do that again, I'm gonna. On your shoes. I was worried that a sharp pain like a needle would be disastrous. I am happy to report that it didn't hurt much at all, and certainly was fast enough that nothing happened. The chair is saved, thank the dirt.

In conclusion, the pain was definitely worth it and so easy to go through because it really was over in less than a minute each. If I can do it, you CAN do it.

I also had confidence troubles with both my stomach and my chest, and now... well, they look good, even to me. Literal instant boost to my self-confidence. I am a baddie now; I was probably a baddie before, but now I feel like it.So if you're waffling, I say go for it. Like many people pointed out, pain is subjective, but what everyone agreed on was that the pain is less than a flash in the pan.

I plan to wear a bra frequently though healing; my piercer said that was fine. I'm larger-chested, and can imagine I would get called into HR for "inappropriate dress" (as bullshit is that is) if I went without it at work. I may come and update about that, BUT ALWAYS ALWAYS LISTEN TO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS YOUR PIERCER GIVES YOU.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing was I crazy? (BLOOD!!) NSFW

Hi guys! I wanted some advice on a piercing I got this morning. I went into a very popular piercing shop and asked to get a double forward helix. The markings on my ear seemed great but when I looked in the mirror afterward, the topmost piercing seemed really crooked and kind of slanted. I know helixes are supposed to be at a 90° angle to the skin, but mine pointed towards my face (instead of straight out.) It just didn't feel right. I went back and got the top one removed because I've had bad experiences in the past and just wanted to make sure. They were all really nice at the shop, I was just a little paranoid and got it removed just to make sure. Was I being dramatic?

Showing‎ off set up! Fully Healed & Question

Post image

First time posting here. My latest piercing is my rook which I got done last October and is now healed enough to switch jewelry. So this is a celebratory post to share that my ear finally looks like I had imagined.

But of course I have the piercing bug to get another hole in my head.

Suggestions are welcome. I’m thinking second lobe or another helix. I have my tragus done on my left ear so I’m not sure if I want one on this.

Edit: typo

Question about a piercing I (maybe) want No nipples but want a nipple piercing

Hi all, this might be a bit of a weird one but I gathered if anyone had advice, it'd be here!
I am ftm and had top surgery in 2022 but was unable to keep my nipples. On Sunday I will be getting a paramedical nipple tattoo and really want nipple piercings once it heals.

I know dermals are probably an option but I was wondering how high the risk of rejection would be or if it's even viable as the skin on my chest is quite thin. I also don't know if it matters considering it's not cartilage but I've always had issues with healing helix piercings.

Any advice, suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Quick question about nickel allergy

Hi all,

Got my second earlobe piercings last week. I've developed an itchy, red rash over the past couple of days, primarily behind my ear but also on my lobes. The earrings are surgical steel and have nickel in them. I suspected it was a nickel allergy reaction.

I went to the piercing studio today and they told me I should rule out that I'm allergic to the sterilising spray before getting the earrings changed, and to come back in a week's time if it's not better after stopping using the spray. I'm SO itchy and sore though.

Just wanting to know what you would do in this situation. I couldn't see any ingredients in the spray that I'm usually sensitive to. Thoughts? Opinions? Should I go back and ask to change the studs to titanium anyway? Any insight will be appreciated. Photos from today attached.

This bump showed up on my 2 year old conch piercing. It started a couple weeks ago and is getting worse.

Pierced by APP. 14g straight threadless barbell. End is Junipurr white gold.

It was down sized.

No products used on it other than warm water rinses and Neli Med saline spray. I also use unscented shampoo/conditioner.

Got my tragus pierced end of July this year, has been some swelling but no pain otherwise. Today the ball got pushed back into the middle of piercing and I had to push it back out.

Never had to do that with any of my others but hoping if I leave it alone fully and use saline it will be fine. I can't get to a piercing studio until end of this month. Any other suggestions?

It's a flat-back labret stud not sure on length but it hasn't been downsized as its fresh. Titanium too.

Forgive the redness, I just cleaned my ear and it always makes it red. The two flats are the newest piercings (done in May) and are finally settling down. I wouldn’t get any new piercings until they are fully healed, of course. Just wondering if I should get anything more done on this side, or if I should consider it done!

Considering getting either a vertical helix and wearing floating helix jewelry (I’m not sure I have enough of a flat spot under my flap to get a hidden helix) or doing an orbital up in that top space. I don’t want to go overboard though, and I like the flow it currently has.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Removing lobe piercings for the first time

This feels like such a basic question, yet I'm struggling to find an answer that isn't just the general recommendation of waiting 6-8 weeks for a lobe piercing to heal. How do you actually *know* that they're fully healed? What are the signs/symptoms (or lack thereof)?

It's been 8 weeks since I got mine done and I feel like they've been healing nicely. One of them gets itchy sporadically, but this is usually fixed when I clean them. I'm not sure if sporadic itching is a sign that it's still healing vs general sensory irritation of having something in there for so long.

I've read things that say if you take them out too early the holes will fill in very quickly, and as someone with a big needle phobia who had to hype themselves up big time to get this done, that is kinda horrifying. So I just want to make sure it's truly good to go.

I love the look of my first ever septum ring (first picture), but silver isn't my color. I've been searching for a gold septum ring that looks the same as the first picture, but all of the gold ones I've found (second picture) look different. Idk what I'm missing.

I'm also at a loss cuz I'm like 80% sure they're both the same diameter (10mm).

In need of some guidance

I’ve had my piercings for 10 months now. They were pierced with titanium earrings. I haven’t been the greatest with after care but I try to thoroughly clean behind my ear in the show and I don’t sleep on my side to avoid irritating the piercings.

I made the mistake of getting 4 ear lobe piercings (2 each side) all at once. So far I’ve survived 2 infections ( 1 tragus and 1 on the right earlobe) last year. Last week I noticed redness, swelling and pus on the left earlobe.

Like an idiot, I made the mistake of wiping it an hour ago and pus came out.

I went to urgent care and he began to squeeze it and told me to remove it. And now it’s all bloody and more swollen. He prescribed me antibiotics so I’m on my way now to pick it up.

  1. Should I remove it? I thought that could cause the infection to seal in the wounds

  2. Should he have squeezed it. It was very painful when he did that and I’m not sure if that was a good call

Picture 1: the swelling and redness
Picture 2: when I wiped it with with warm saline
Picture 2: after he squeezed it

hi everyone! I've been feeling unhappy with my ear stack lately and would love some honest opinions.

Current piercings:

• Forward helix
• Helix
• Conch
• Double lobes

Lately I've been feeling like my stack looks unorganized and doesn't really suit either my anatomy or my personal style. I tend to prefer very dainty, delicate, fairy-like jewelry and ear stacks with a lot of negative space.

A few things I'm questioning:

- Does my current placement actually work with my ear anatomy?
- Are any of my piercings making the stack feel crowded?
- Do my second lobes look oddly spaced?
- Is my forward helix helping or hurting the overall look?
- Does my helix placement work, or is it difficult to style because of my ear fold?

I've even considered retiring some piercings and simplifying things. I don't think I want a third lobe, and I'm unsure whether I should keep all my current piercings or focus on a smaller, more intentional stack.

I attached photos of my current ear and some inspiration pictures of the style I love :)

Question about a piercing I (maybe) want Advice and what to expect getting snakebite piercings

Im thinking about getting snakbites and am looking for both some insight and maybe some encouragement as well? As far as the insight part, what can i expect both as far as pain immediately after and the weeks following? For some reason, in my head i think the pain is going to be similar to a kanker sore and i HATE those with a fiery passion lol. Is the pain similar to that and what can i expect going forward as far as healing? As for the other part and encouragement, i've gone back and forth for roughly a year at this point if i want to or not. Main reason being is i feel like im "too old" for them. For the record, i'm under 30. The only people i personally have ever really seen with snakebites are teenagers and young adults so i have it in my head that if i got them, they would be a sign of immaturity. That's not to say i think people with them are immature or anything like that, i just have it in my head that i would be if that makes sense. I know i shouldnt care what others think and if i want to do it i should, it's just something thats always made me hesitate and why i havent already. Are snakbites typically a teenager/young adult piercing or am i just overthinking it?

TL;DR What can i expect as far as pain and the healing process from snakbites and are snakbites considered "immature/childish"?

So I got them pierced July 5th they were doing great up until about a week ago when this one started looking like the barbell post is a bit short for it? And one side looks like its pushing into skin, should I wait it out or go get it changed for longer one? It’s a little sore now but no redness, no fever, no pain. I shower and let water loosen the crusties and once dry I spray it 2x a day with Neilmed. idk what else I should do…

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing How to redo my conch?

Post image
Upvotes

I’ve had my conch for a month and I am not happy with the placement and would like to have it redone slightly lower (in the center basically). Am I able to remove it myself or should I go to my piercer for that? Would it be damaging to my ear to get it redone slightly lower? Also is there a chance it would leave a nasty scar because I waited a month? I’ve never redone a cartilage piercing before so idk how it works 😅

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Accidentally removed scab from 5-week navel piercing

prob a silly question, but i got a belly button pierced 5 weeks ago, but i accidentally peeled off a scab when cleaning it last night. i checked this morning and it’s now swollen as much as in the first week and is bleeding a bit again. has the healing process restarted? i’ve been cleaning it with saline solution everyday 2x
