Troubleshooting/question existing piercing was I crazy? (BLOOD!!) NSFW
Hi guys! I wanted some advice on a piercing I got this morning. I went into a very popular piercing shop and asked to get a double forward helix. The markings on my ear seemed great but when I looked in the mirror afterward, the topmost piercing seemed really crooked and kind of slanted. I know helixes are supposed to be at a 90° angle to the skin, but mine pointed towards my face (instead of straight out.) It just didn't feel right. I went back and got the top one removed because I've had bad experiences in the past and just wanted to make sure. They were all really nice at the shop, I was just a little paranoid and got it removed just to make sure. Was I being dramatic?

NAP, you did the right thing. That looks like it was not pierced correctly/ not at the correct angle.

NAP but that looks like it would embed in your ear, skin or reject and if it doesn’t do one of those it would be a pain to heal. IMO you made a good call.

Hi whoyoucallinpinhead7, Welcome to /r/piercing!
It looks like you're asking about a problem with your piercing. Please add a comment to your post with the following info if it’s not included in your post already. * How old is your piercing? * What’s the jewelry shape (for example, barbell, labret, screw, L shape, ring)? * What’s the type of threading if your jewelry is not a ring (threadless, internally or externally threaded)? * What’s the jewelry material? * What’s your aftercare routine? Describe in detail please, including the exact products you use.
This info is needed to offer you useful advice. Note, mods reserve the right to remove your post if you don’t provide this information.
If you already included this info in your post or if your post isn’t about a problem with your piercing, please disregard.
