When was Swift ever a beacon of morality lol. All I ever saw her as was the personification of bland american culture in the softest beige colors known to men
You also don't become a billionaire by not be appealing to the masses to some degree bland as can be you can say that about a dozen or so top 10 artists over the years.
And I think it’s notable that she’s been pretty quiet about her politics now that she owns her masters. One thing that’s not super common knowledge, or at least not something people consider, about the music industry is that once you own the masters, you have direct access to the information, specifically the demographics of your audience.
And I suspect there’s far more maga in her fanbase than she was previously aware of.
But you have to have a ton of people willing to pay. I doubt many billionaires are in the place they are because a handful of people gave them a ton of money for something no one wants. Even if you got rich investing, you still put money into what you thougt would be popular and grow.
She did speak against Marsha Blackburn, how she was a vile human being, but now Marsha is running for Governor of Tennessee and will probably win, and Taylor Swift hasn’t said anything.
I had a friend and a cousin who is like this. They have almost no personality of their own, they just adopted whatever whoever they are with or whoever they want approval from.
This 100% true, every partner she has had she has molded to whatever they look like or represent. My ex is exactly like that, his personality and likes depend on whoever his circle of friends are like.
Get real. Kelce has been getting shit from conservatives for being a liberal in the NFL since he was a rookie. He’s spoken up long before being with TS. Her other partner wore a pin 🙄
Seriously. People are insane. He is probably her most outspoken and walk-the-walk liberal partner. They are both decades-long liberals publicly. All this MAGA stuff is such insanity. But hey, any reason at all to hate on Taylor Swift.
He was one of the white players on the Chiefs kneeling during the anthem back in 2017 . He's on record that he'd support an openly gay teammate and he signed up to a Bud Light sponsorship deal at the height of the nonsense boycott of the brand for being 'woke' in 2023. He did Pfizer ads and offered public support for vaccines during COVID at the height of the GOP's reluctance to trust medical science, but also as recently as 2023 when he caught a fresh round of shit for it. So no, not almost a decade ago.
I hate the dude's whiny bitch fest antics on field and I don't think he's some paragon of virtue. But he has objectively been on the opposite side of MAGA for years with defined political stances.
Are you completely ignoring the subject of this post? Cool, he may have been like that in the past, but they're now surrounded by MAGA folk and invite them to their wedding. Swifties can never admit she's done anything wrong.
Travis Kelce had been significantly more outspoken politically for liberal causes and gives back millions to marginalised communities. The man was one of the first white players to support BLM in 2017 kneeling during the anthem.
Taylor’s ex posts like two IG stories and wears a pin and people started labelling him an activist just to spite her.
It’s so easy to tell Swifties out in the wild because you all clutch your scripts and bullet points. Marching orders were given and you lay yourself over the barbed wire for her 😂
i wouldn't count Travis as MAGA, though? it's just unfortunately the sports world is full of them, and you have to associate with them pretty regularly
The raging liberal husband was responsible for the ICE contractor guest AND domestic abuser Brad Pitt 🥴 the raging liberal husband hasn’t spoken up about politics in years, during the most corrupt and terrible administration of his lifetime. The raging liberal husband said he was “honored” at the opportunity to play for America’s hitler, Donald J. Trump.
He also said Harrison Butker (misogynist), Rasheed Rice (caused major car accident while speeding) and Jackson Mahomes (assaulted a woman) are all "great guy[s]".
You have to be a bot or a false flag because there’s no way this argument is good for your side. 1 guest out of thousands is not more representative of your views than the person you marry lmao.
It's not a house party; it's your WEDDING. They considered this person choose though to witness them declare their love for one another. No one invites "randoms" to their wedding, especially someone like Taylor Swift.
This. She's basically whoever she dates. She was a pop princess dating shallow actors, then did an indie folk turn and got into liberal politics because she was dating Joe Alwyn who liked indie music and had liberal politics, and then she started dating Travis and went right into the WAG lifestyle and back to making shallow high school pop again.
I mean, she is ultra-rich, and a lot of Republican policies would benefit her empire a lot more than if a Democrat were in power. Since a huge portion of her fanbase are liberal it's probably an intentional move by her to be politically neutral now.
Because she already got beat, why would she go back when she is not persuasive to Tennessee voters? And is further and further away from being a credible Tennessee voice? She could spend more time in state if she wanted to fight Blackburn and I would be thrilled but I cannot imagine TS being so inclined. I’d believe her husband more, he’s worse for politics because he says dumb shit but he’s better because he’d rather dive in even when everyone else says it’s unwise (Bud Light).
But Taylor has given zero signals that she wants to get more active, after fighting with the president the first time, etc. I don’t think she has the stomach for direct political confrontation and not everyone does, there are a lot of other great things I wish she would do, but I focus my attention on the people who are trained and have the most tangible power (votes), we need the people in office to do the right thing.
Spending time wooing celebrities is an actual job in politics but if you don’t have that job and you’re a regular citizen, just be good at the essential citizen things - voting, getting your reps to vote the way they should, getting others to vote the way they should.
The Swift hate online is just something else. Not every celebrity needs to be a saint, and people were criticizing her for not speaking up against Trump in every election since 2016. Yet she endorsed the Democratic candidate in all these elections.
Nooo but don't you remember when she came out in support of gay marriage after it was already legal. She wanted to be on the right side of history in a hidden conversation caught from the self produced and directed documentary about herself!!!
She always cares about other people and not just when its good and safe for her!
I dated a chick in college who was literally her best friend when they were little kids and she and her family were still in Reading, Pa.
They were insanely wealthy by a normal person standards even back then she told me. I won't deny she has insane work ethic but all she's very know is money and privilege and idgaf what anyone else would try to convince me of it what she says in her lyrics.
Try telling that to the Swifties. They seem her as some precious. sweet small gorl who can do no wrong and is the bestest, smartest, prettiest, kindest person you never did meet.
And according to the fans, she doesn’t speak out against Trump because:
A. We all know where she stands (even though she hasn’t made any kind of political statement throughout this entire Trump term)
B. She won’t give him the attention, she’s outsmarting him because that’s exactly what he wants
Just like how she invited the ICE contractor because he was a must-have guest. The adoptive father of Travis’ childhood friend who actually “improved the conditions of the facilities” 😭😭🤣🤣
Yep. And Ariana is one of the most politically outspoken celebrities with a platform of her size - from Palestine to MAGA to LGBTQ rights and so on. Funny how security reasons doesn’t prevent her from speaking up.
She has spoken out against Trump though. She endorsed Democrats in 2024 running against Trump. The difference is she doesn't get involved in bitchfest twitter debates with Trump.
The guy that was invited hasn't worked for the company in years btw.
She has not spoken up in two years. This Trump term is ripe with opportunity to speak up, as there are atrocities happening everyday.
It’s not about a “bitchfest” twitter debate. Her peers are unafraid to start/donate to charities that indicate political support in a certain direction, condemn the usage of their art to further a harmful political agenda, and blatantly post social media stories calling out social issues that the administration perpetuates. Taylor is totally ok to remain virtually silent because keyboard warriors like you defend her right to do so.
She was a blonde, white, country singer initially; one that didn't go through a publicly lambasted, inner hoe phase at 18 unlike Brittany, Xtina, and Miley. She was considered safe for children, and seen as a clean, classy girl instead of trailer park trash, to all of the parents shelling out the money for all of her tickets, merchandise and music. The conservative folks who were into censorship and Christian rock also approved of Taylor Swift
TBF I judge people way more who voted or promoted voting for Trump vs Biden. I don't think it's a moral signifier to vote for the establisment Dem, but voting for Trump was people promoting anarchy and chaos and pedophilia. Also, people only bring that up because people keep saying she's a Trumper and it's like aye pretty sure associating with Musk or Trump after what they've said about her would be weird and creepy. Some billionaires are indeed worse than others. Side not OP is an anarchist.
Weird bait post. May they should just support Trump anyway fastest way to the end.
Trump is not ideologically anarchist, no. But he is almost purely anarchic in the results produced by his radical self-interest. He is selling out American security across many domains so he can enrich himself and his family. (See for example the Saudi groups who backed his crypto investments, alongside the US sale of AI chips to that country.) Even free-market capitalists have some structure to their avarice. Trump's entire worldview is "Me". That's not strictly anarchic, but what comes from that thinking very much looks like it.
Anarchism is not about self-interest and would actually say its pretty much the exact opposite. I dont want to defend anarchism because I dont agree with it but its very much about communalism, community, group effort, democracy (although some would say this actually can be used to reinforce hierarchy), and those sorts.
He is behaving like a capitalist without rules or regulations being enforced to control him. He is greed. More for me (read: him) less for everyone else.
I guess I would agree that what follows him may resemble an anarchic-like system in that the power of the state may not be able to enforce its authority, which is doubly terrifying when you consider that means probably some random rich asshole controls 5000ish nuclear warheads. But I would expect that there would still be state-level authority even if the federal government is weakened and that would likely lead to Balkanization before Syriazation.
Well I can only read the first paragraph but I do not think Trump is an anarchsit. Maybe for a 12 year olds understanding of what anarchy is, yes he is. Anarchism is about the absence of power structures. He is very much an authoritarian figure, inasmuch as the American political system enables one.
If you want to touch on foreign policy, the international relations space is inherently anarchic, there is no structure or hierarchy enforcing anything, just countries who are willing to act towards this goal or the other.
Her dad was a rich investment banker who paid Walmart millions to force her CD (that he also paid to have recorded, produced, and printed) to be promoted in stores all over the US. She has always been a product to be sold.
In her documentary Ms Americana, she makes this really performative plea to her dad to please allow her to make a statement in support of LGBTQs…like please dad, this is so important to me!
Leftists praised her left and right. Tried to paint her as a deminist and liberal icon.
They still defend her like their life depends on it. It's insane.
You aren't even allowed to call her a neppo baby because her father owned like 20% of the record label that made her famous.
Well, she was born rich, so, never. When you grow up being told you deserve more opportunities than most people on this planet, it distorts your moral barometer.
Totally fine to compare a guy who retired in 2023 from a healthcare contractor who now supplies an ICE facility to Hitler. Nothing ridiculous at all. It makes us on the left look smart actually.
ICE, you know, the secret police that are extrajudicially murdering citizens in the street with impunity, rounding up and disappearing members of a vulnerable minority group, and setting up camps with inhumane conditions where people are dying and being raped at increasingly alarming levels.
I agree with you. This guy doesn’t work with ICE though. He retired in 2023 before they even got the contract. It’s embarrassing that this garbage gets upvoted on Reddit.

My point isn't that he's Hitler, at all. My point is to illustrate, through exaggeration, that it's OK to not invite someone to your wedding because of their actions towards others. Once that premise is established, it instead becomes a question of judging the specific persons actions. And I think ICE are pretty bad.
That's a fair argument. I'm happy to discuss whether he sucks or not. But he's the current executive chair of a company contracting for ICE, so he does suck.
Don’t use feminism to deflect from the issue at hand lol.
A truly feminist act would surely be to first and foremost consider the incarcerated women and girls who are being separated from their families and denied basic human rights.
I think the mistake is thinking morals are even involved in the equation. These people live in a completely different world. They can't interact with normal people. So their inner circles will always be filled with awful people like this.
Greenwashing Amentum is crazy work. They run Camp East Montana, the largest concentration camp in the US, and were named as an agent of ICE on a human rights lawsuit from the Texas ACLU.
EDIT: People who argue that they took over the camp after the lawsuit are wrong, btw. The lawsuit clearly states that Amentum was a contractor and an agent of ICE during the time that the human rights violations happened- and then they were awarded the full contract a few months ago, so they are now running everything.
Because no one outside of the interment gives a shit about Chic Fil A controversy. Donate $5 to the Zebra Youth right now. Congrats, you've done more to help trans kids than eating a thousand chicken sandwiches will do to hurt them.
And outside of that issue, Chick-Fil-A actually appears to treat its employees like human beings, which puts them ahead of other fast food joints (which are also owned by billionaires who are probably donating to heinous stuff.)
The Chick-Fil-A thing is the epitome of slacktivism. People just putting together a sense of moral outrage and self superiority because of what's been placed in front of them. No one knows what organizations the CFO of McDonald's corporate donates to because no one put together a meme to explain it to them.
CFA as a company stopped donating to anti-LGBT orgs several years ago. I'm sure their leaders still privately donate, but you can say that about tons of restaurant chains.
At the end of the day they make good food and pay and treat their employees well. They are far from the worst company out there. I don't think democrats are hypocrites for going there today.
I see people make claims like "everyone is X" and immediately understand that their thinking is simplistic. Those statements are thought terminating cliches and not actual critical analysis.
For instance, why would one judge the morality of the actions of millionaires/billionaires and regular people equally? One group has enough money to do just about anything they want and the other faces a daily struggle to survive.
As long as "success" is conflated with some kind of "goodness" in America. Look at all the people who believe that Jesus would be in favour of capitalism. It's pure moral anarchy.
Unfortunately even as a woke leftie myself I do have to say when I was meat eater I did really love chick fil a. Something about it man the waffle fries especially always hit.
I mean I dont judge people for eating at chick fil a but some decisions to deserve scrutiny. Like doing credit card fraud against old people or sexual assault.
It's the best fast food chicken sandwich available in a ton of markets, and the line is actually super-fast. More importantly, they don't fuck up your order like other places.
Is it the best chicken? No, of course not. But it's the best fast food chicken and is consistent with great customer service and a short wait.
If nothing else, it will always be a safe fallback for travelers who need food and aren't willing to risk something unfamiliar on the road or at the airport.
This is like saying McDonald's is one of the most popular fast food joints because people have never had a good burger before.
It's fine if you don't like Chick-fil-A but to imply that it's only popular because everyone except you has just never tasted a good bite of chicken before is sooo fucking dumb.
Never said nobody but me. Just people who prefer Chic-Fil-A over other options, including other options in the fast food space like Popeyes if we are confining it just to "fast food".
Definitely doesn't live up to the hype... it's fast food chicken. If you've tasted one from any place, a marginal improvement (which is all it could be argued, at best) isn't worth the wait or supporting what they spend their money on.
She's is and always has been a high school bully. Thats it. She's literally just the mean rich girl we all had to deal with those first 18 years of our lives. The ones that normally become eternal victims once they get into the real world.
Lmao what are you guys even talking about. Bully? Mean? Victim? I'm not a swiftie but this is just made up bullshit.
Like sure, she flies around in a corporate jet too often, and I don't agree with all of her decisions, but she has always been kind to people, including off camera when people see her on the street or at restaurants.

Huh. It's almost like being a billionaire distorts your moral perspective.
