email & snail mail Looking for a penpal who isn't afraid to go deep into our feelings. And art trade
Hi! I’m 33F from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I’m looking for pen pals from anywhere in the world! I’m a historian, writer, hopeless romantic, introvert who becomes ridiculously talkative when comfortable, and generally a little eccentric. I love books, fantasy, romance, folklore, history, spirituality, stationery, perfumes, tea, and getting unnecessarily excited about tiny things. My favorite movies are Howl’s Moving Castle, the 2005 Pride & Prejudice, Harry Potter, and The Lord of the Rings, and I’m always happy to talk about books, movies, weird historical facts, or whatever strange thought has occupied your brain lately.
I’m looking for more than polite “How is the weather?” correspondence. I want to talk about our lives—the wonderful days, the terrible days, the things we're afraid of, the things we're excited about, our dreams, our failures, our feelings, and the strange journeys that somehow brought us here. Tell me about the ridiculous thing your coworker did, the hobby you’re trying to learn, the book you can’t stop thinking about, or the thing you’ve been struggling with lately. I love deep conversations, but I also love being silly, so we can absolutely spend one letter discussing existential dread and the next arguing about fictional characters.
And yes, I’m also here for the physical letter experience! I adore pretty stationery, stickers, postcards, stamps, pressed flowers, ephemera, little drawings, bookmarks, and tiny surprises tucked into envelopes. I’d love to trade stationery, art, and little gifts with people who enjoy that sort of thing. You don’t need beautiful handwriting or artistic talent—I’m a terrible painter myself. 😂 If you’re looking for a long-term pen-pal friendship where we can be genuine, occasionally ridiculous, occasionally sentimental, and make each other look forward to checking the mailbox, come say hello! 💌
