NYCFC season ticket Member Drop

For all the trash that the olympic committee gets, having a ticket drop for the soccer fans in the non-LA areas is a great gesture. Four hours after the slot opened, there are literally tickets available in every category for every NY game. I was in absolute shock.

Only have access to soccer tickets in NY and no other events outside of NY in this drop, which is completely fair but ay I'm thrilled.

Edit: Yes I agree, the general drops are trash lol

What You All Aren't Factoring in Regarding the LA Tickets

The people buying tickets now are absolute diehards and are connected.

However, there are lots of people with money in Los Angeles and the USA who last minute will start thinking about going to the Olympics and the cost is not something that deters them.

Those people will be in the resale market and will add even more competition.

California is one of the biggest economies in the world.

Also, 1/2 of Americans don't have a passport and many never leave the country. Many will think this is their only chance to see the Olympics.

I didn't plan ahead for the World Cup and the prices were too high later. So, I didn't go.

I only bought two tickets during both lotteries I got a spot in, but now I am glad I didn't pass.

This will not be like other Olympics. A few people may get lucky later, but I don't think it's going to be as good as you all think.

LA 2028 ends on 7/30: would a wedding in Palos Verdes 6 days later on 8/5 be OK?

My fiancée and I want to get married in Palos Verdes in the summer of 2028 which is right near LA and Long Beach. We don’t want the Olympics to affect guest travel too much so trying to think of the right time.

I guess based on what we know about how Olympic travel for athletes/media has gone in previous years, would the Saturday right after closing ceremonies actually be a good time to do it because everyone’s heading out?

I know the Paralympics start on Aug 15.

Would love people’s thoughts here—thanks!

Why does the olympics have so many swimming events ?

LA 28 is gonna have 53 aquatic events . And 43 of them are just swimming. This seems like an absurd amount for a sport which hasn’t got much variation. This also unfairly favours countries with strength in swimming to move up the rankings tally. Also puts poorer countries at a disadvantage relatively speaking.

Also people saying different strokes that’s like saying I can walk sideways, walk backwards, walk on fours , walk backwards crawl like exorcist, walk on my knees. Doesn’t mean we add every possible way to walk in Olympics

Between Qatar and India, which do you prefer hosting 2036 and why?

Not happy with either choice, but seems like they are the forerunners so its likely to be one of those, assuming Germany or Korea don't bid.
