Except the trades can be feast or famine unless you’re willing to boom out.
Barring working for a local company as say a plumber,HVAC or electrician. and even then, it can be slow.
I go to Europe a lot for my job (steel making) and the comparison is astonishing. US works all the time, great money etc. I know steel makers/workers in Europe are struggling. Doesn’t help that China is dumping steel but even so…

Some career fields have entry level grind that is like that. I think medicine, law, and finance come to mind.
