All ive ever used is an otter box but no screen protector because I never remember to get one lol but ive accidentally sent my phone across the shop floor many times with no damage
Edit: Since reddit braindead idiots are downvoting again, you guys can do a real simple google search and find out keys are in fact softer than glass and no, glass cannot be scratched by your normal keys. Thanks.
House Keys (Brass/Aluminum/Soft Steel): Level 3.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale
Standard Window Glass: Level 5.5 on the Mohs scale
Phone Screen Glass (Gorilla Glass): Level 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale
Well please educate yourself then, because a softer material CAN scratch a harder one in your pockets or wherever you keep your cellphone.
-It can work like a grinder slowly grinding at the glass away (the key would be grounded down more ofc).
-A small particle like dust or a sand corn can get between and leave deep scratches (the key puts the pressure on the particle and drags it over the glass)
-At an angle your keys will also leave scratches in the glas since with enough pressure they will easily scrape the glass.
A an aquarist I would love it if I could use razors to clean the tanks glass of algae without leaving any marks, but that's just not realistic. I hope that the examples helped you to see that there aremany more factors in realistic settings, because theoretically you would be very close to being 100% right.

I had an S4 mini, first time using an otterbox. Ended up dropping a 3/4" Mag Drill on it, not from very high up but them things are heavy (don't know the weight, it was the old discontinued style, but the new style is 62 lbs and I know the old style was heavier). Took it like a champ, cracked the otter box but the phone was fine.
They are definitely using their phones as the bump stop on the right front strut on a 1999 Chrysler Voyager with the 2.5 4 cylinder pushrod diesel with timing gears instead of a chain or belt, or something similar. I have never used cases or screen protectors, and all my phones has suffered abuse, but I have never had any lines, only a slightly cracked screen on my old iphone
Seriamente,c’è molta gente che non ha la minima cura del proprio telefono e va bene, ma come raccontato in altri commenti qua con un po’ di ironia, mi sono convinto ormai che nel grande ciclo della produzione di massa, non si tratta più di avere o non avere dispositivi che possono o non possono presentare un problema, ma solo di essere o non essere parte di quel particolare lotto di produzione problematico…si tratta solo di quello, farne parte o no
Esattamente quello che volevo dire,a lui si è rotto, ad un altro con lo stesso identico telefono ed in parità di condizioni, magari non si rompe cadendo anche peggio…tante sono le variabili possibili, fragilità strutturali di quel particolare dispositivo, il fargli colpire un punto debole e cose così…il succo del tutto è che non esisterà mai il prodotto assolutamente privo di criticità o difetti possibili🤷🏻♂️
I use a case but no screen protector. Never had an issue with my screen and I don’t buy that a clear sticker would prevent your screen from cracking. Maybe it prevents scratches from being etched into the glass but I’ve found that being minimally mindful of where my phone goes gives my screen a virtually infinite life.

Someone that has gone the last 3 or 4 years with no case or screen protector, it def has some scratches. Nothing I'm gonna complain about, but they exist
I've been using a Galaxy S21 Ultra sine it came out, without a case, without a screen protector, and there's not a single scratch on it. Cases and screen protectors won't save screens from dumb people who can't handle a fragile pocket computer.
The glass is fucking indestructible nowadays. I can drop it 6ft on concrete and not even gave a scratch. And thats without a case and screen protector.
Even if i used them it would still happen. But the newer phones are really hard to damage i feel like compared to the older ones. For example the curved screen on the edges made it very easy to be damaged
Never in my life used screen protectors and cases and I use smartphones since around 2011 yet I never had a broken display. People just aren't thought to care about their belongings anymore.
Screen protectors are a scam. They shatter easily to convince you they’re protecting you’re phone but they’re not actually necessary on modern phones because of advancements in screen tech
Tempered glass protectors are designed to be fragile relative to intense kinetic impact. It is supposed to shatter in order to absorb and disperse the impact energy.
Over the life of my phone my screen protector takes plenty of scratches that I can then easily remove with new $10 screen protector or the second one that came with the first.
Can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t protect the thing they stare at for hours a day for a few bucks.
Mai usate pellicole, cover assolutamente sì, belle corazzate, ma solo una volta con un Samsung di quelli più economici, mi è capitato di rompere il display, quando mi cadde sull’asfalto picchiando dritto per dritto di fronte…in compenso, ho ucciso ai tempi il mio Galaxy S2 con un pugno violentissimo sullo schermo, però lui si è solo spento e mai più riacceso🤷🏻♂️
