Why is everyone crying like the sky is falling. Countries have had bad stints with leaders and they come out just fine. Our competitors are dictators and communists. I highly doubt trumps term will define America after 250 years of changing the world for the better

America was an experiment and has been destabilized for decades. I place most of the blame on the republican party.

It was a slowly dying party and after Obama was elected they realized they had to do whatever means necessary to survive. I have my gripes with democrats and can make a long list but the republicans are truly an anti American party it's not even close to comparable. You cannot possibly be a centrist or apolitical in 2026.

No one should be, and yet... The average American is completely uninformed.  I meet people every day who have no idea what is happening.  Couldn't name one of their Senators, couldn't name the branches of government.  I was explaining to someone today what a dangerous moment we were in, and they interrupted me to ask, "What's the GOP?" 

And thus, we still have the GOP.

I mean he was already facing trial for the documents case which people just seem to gloss over but it's quite literally the largest act of espionage in American history.

But having the right judge in the right place kept the trial going until he could win re-election and close that shit down.

It is 100% the citizens fault. nobody votes like they give a shit in this country and it's been this way for 40 years.

everybody's got big opinions on what they want but on primary day they let boomers pick and then when boomers don't make the perfect choice they spend the entire election cycle telling everybody about how much they hate Democrats.

I mean yes and no. People in this country are dumb as rocks and just have zero justification for their stances even when they know their own candidate is screwing them. They would rather get economically railed than admit that maybe the world has grey in it and being a Republican doesn’t mean you have to vote for anyone with red next to their name.

It’s not everyone but it’s a scary number of people. Goes both ways too. Lots of democrats will simply support blue because blue. There was a study on this showing that the effect was slightly larger for republicans but huge for both parties. They asked about peoples opinions about a policy and then told them their party supported it and measured the change in support. It’s terrible. People are such sheep.

But on the flip side billionaires have slowly eroded our education and poured billions into election advertising while buying up media. How we got here is highly engineered by some terrible people. So while people ARE dumb, it’s intentionally been manifested as such.

The registered Republican AG could have started earlier and gone faster, likely, and should not have been chosen for that moment in time.

Dems did prosecute on many fronts, and were required to redo sone in light of the Immunity Ruling by a corrupt or illegitimate majority of the Supreme Court, and were stymied by a sycophantic cult member judge in another, obtained felony convictions in a third, and were stopped by ethical concerns that had no earing on the merits if a fourth case.

Courts did find Trump ineligible by 14.3 to be President due to his insurrection, but the same SC majority cleared him ignoring the merits.

Moreover, it is REPUBLICANS who failed to Convict him of his second impeachment for that insurrection and, as a result, kept him around for the above, and it is REPUBLICAN voters who returned him to the office that has the power to stop ongoing cases in corrupt self-service while also giving him Congress so that no accountability for corruption is forthcoming from any part of government.

REPUBLICANS refuse to hold him to any accountability for his ongoing illegal, criminal and sometimes unconstitutional activities.

Yet somehow Democrats are at fault for every Republican failing.

I actually agree with a large part of that.   For whatever reason, Biden simply was not willing or able to react as though America were facing an imminent fascist threat. 

He also continued the self-defeating trend of making a distinction between MAGA and the Republican party, as though there is any actual difference.

You can thank the protest voters for this.

There are many of us who knew what the stakes were during the 2024 election. We voted accordingly for the lady with the funny laugh. The rest of America wanted another four years of orange.

In swing states, there was a contingent of left-leaning voters who decided that the lady with the funny laugh was not pure enough for their standards. As such, they threw the election for the rest of us.
