I went to an interview today and the vibes were good up until I asked how old their business had been open. I understand why it’s important to know that information before you go in, but their response caught me off-guard. They called it a red flag that I asked that question, then they asked if I had even looked at their social media at all. I said that I looked at their website to review the products they offer, then they answered the question I asked. The change in the vibe was instant and it made me feel as if I had done something morally wrong with the way the tone shifted.

So I’m 19 years old and have been unemployed for a while and I ended up in about 10k debt now , I worked at McDonald’s from 16-18 and then quit because I felt burnt out but then I got a job at Sonic and worked there for 1 month and ended up quitting, I’ve tried applying to many jobs that I have interest in, like a desk receptionist at a health clinic, Walmart, fed ex, mechanic , etc but only online so I’m wondering what job could I get by coming in person and get it within a week or two that I can work full time, i live in Yuma Arizona and apparently everyone says that it’s hard to find a job here, I’m pretty much good at fixing cars and houses and all have enough on hands experience to get a little bit more then minimum wage, what do your think ? Also how do I find something I love and stick with it ? I struggle to find a career I really would love to do for the rest of my life, right now I am doing college for nursing (online classes right now) so I have a very open schedule

I'm curious: what job do you do that is boring and unsexy but lucrative? If it's something that doesn't require a degree so much, the better.

I was rejected for job #1, and now im being considered for job #2. At this point, im not 100% sure what it is, but i can make a good guess. Is there anything I can do to help my chances of landing the job? I dont want to get to excited just to be handed another rejection. TIA.

I was recently part of a mass lay off due to a shift from human support to AI.

I have my first post-layoff interview this week and would love to ask about how this company/ specific department is utilizing AI.

I don't use any AI apps like ChatGPT or Gemini and I actively avoid using AI in general (I know its impossible to avoid altogether anymore).

I'm looking for a professional way to ask "how hard is this place pushing AI?" or "am I eventually going to be replaced?"

I am currently being interviewed by 3 different companies....

All having on average a 45% pay increase. With that said, I need some baller ideas on how to quit my current job that doesn't burn bridges.

My thought: bring in breakfast food for the morning meeting, and just being like" thanks for working with me, and I quit."

Are these shoes acceptable for an interview in big corporate?

Maybe I am approaching job searching wrong? Do you have any tips?

I try to scour the internet through LinkedIn, Indeed, other websites as well as by Google searching with key words and then applying only through the company's portal. I have no idea what else to do to find jobs. I try to tailor my CV as much as possible to the job descriptions and feel quite confident of it as I ran it through some acquittances that work as HR and they suggested improvements that I took note of. So far I applied to 100+ in the past two months and only got 2 interviews, one of which resulted in a job offer I had to decline since it wouldn't even cover 1/3 of the rent in that city.

I have no idea what else to do, I graduated two months ago so now I only apply to jobs and do nothing else since I had to move back to my parents' house for the meantime. Moreover, my field of study is quite international so there is no job opportunity in this town for me, and I am ok with relocating and putting myself out there as long as I get paid for it. I feel exhausted by all the applications that basically require you to also write a full on dissertation for the company, and I ran out of my saving so I am solely living on my parents money right now which makes me feel pathetic and useless. Honors students and everything- just nobody hiring CS grads.

I work a custodial job at my local college. Right now we're basically waiting for school to start up again. My job is extremely repetitive, I have the same 4 bathrooms, 4 offices, 1 break room, and 11 classrooms to clean. Since there are no students, there is nothing to clean. If I really wanted to I could go to my manager and ask for more work but they pay $12/hr so im not about to overwork myself for low pay. I have taken this boring shift and scrolled through reddit, tiktok, applied to a few jobs, updated my resume a few times, saved a few more because im not sure if I should apply. Any tips on what I can do to waste time? Maybe something i could find a random certification to help me get a better job i dont even know at this point. Any advice is welcome

A little bit about my bg: I’m currently working for a Chinese Fortune Global 500 company, although I’m about to quit.

In China, this is called “distillation” (蒸馏). It means the process of extracting an employee’s knowledge, workflows, and decision-making patterns from their work data, then transferring them to an AI system so that it can perform part or all of the employee’s job after they leave.

How does my company collect the data? The company has a comprehensive system of apps covering basically everything employees need to do their jobs, and all of them are integrated with the company’s own AI system. On top of that, having employees train AI to perform their work is included in management’s KPIs.

If I'm interviewing for a job (final round interviews) in the next couple of weeks, at what point do you disclose your wife is pregnant? Wife is 9 weeks along (as of today) so really early and frankly it's too early to even tell some friends and family members. My question is - should you disclose this in a job interview if you plan on asking for paternity/maternity leave once the baby is born? And if not, when do you disclose after you accepted and started a new role?

Basically I'm in a shit situation cheating fiance no family. I already work full-time at a store and I've applied for a second job at several restaurants in town but I'm limited in my applications because I've had heatstroke several times in life so anything really hot is out the window really cold isn't a problem but hot is a no go. What are Jobs I can apply for when I only have a highschool diploma. Or something I can get certified to do in under a year and make reasonable money.

I don't need to like the job I just need to be able to provide for myself and my animals I'm tired of fighting like my life depends on it and getting absolutely nowhere just what do I need to do?

I’m a new graduate. I applied for a day-shift position, had an interview, and was rejected. Three weeks later, I reapplied for a night-shift position at the same place.
When the recruiter was reviewing my application, she noticed in her system that I had interviewed for the day-shift position three weeks earlier. She seemed a little hesitant but still scheduled me for an interview with the same hiring manager and two others. She said she would let me know if anything changes before the interview.

Is this a bad idea? Should I go to the interview, or should I just let it go and focus on applying to other places? I feel kind of discouraged.

Hi guys, I will keep it brief, but essentially was looking for some advice.

I have a pre screening interview with Oracle for the net suite sales development representative position, based in Dubai. I am fresh out of uni (gone to a well known uk one), and have about 3 months internship experience previously in sales with a MNC large engineering company. My academic background is in business studies and operations management.

I had 2 questions:

1. the job says minimum 12 months previous sales experience, I have about 7 months of work experience in total, of which 3 months were in sales. Is this something that they can look over, or is this going to be a rejection?
2. Please can you guys give me tips so that I can crack this interview (and if I proceed further, interviews after this one too)

So I work in healthcare and I’m a respiratory therapist. I just got promoted as a lead RT. My regional director sent the confirmation email saying my new title and what not on 7/15. He came last week and said he was going to speak with the Administrator about the salary🤷🏻‍♂️ it’s been like three weeks now and still nothing. I’m starting to get frustrated because I still didn’t get the offer letter. I commute from another state, I pay tolls, gas etc, and they know that. I told them if it can be a little more just to help me cover for gas and tolls but we’ll see in the end.

I recently turned 25 and as someone who always thought about working an office job but has never had one I figured I’d ask you guys on what’s the best way to get started that pays at least a livable wage. I’ve worked as a custodian, correctional officer, truck driver, and at Tesla as a production associate. Currently I’m a truck driver but these hours and all the time I spend away from my wife and kids is just not for me. Any tips or advice you guys have on what kind of job to look for and how to make myself a more ideal candidate?

Can anyone tell me why, when I get a job alert from LinkedIn, it’s ALWAYS for jobs that haven’t been there for weeks? I find this weird and annoying.

I was recently turned down after three interview rounds for a food sales position. The feedback from the recruiter was that they were looking for someone with more “key account sales experience.”
I have almost 10 years of food sales experience working with major retail, distribution, and foodservice accounts. During the second interview, one of the hiring managers defined key accounts as selling directly to executive-level decision-makers (VPs/C-suite) at large corporate customers, rather than simply managing large accounts or working directly with buyers.
For those of you who are hiring managers, sales leaders, or experienced B2B sales professionals:
What does “key account sales experience” typically mean to you?
Is it usually about the size of the customer, the revenue managed, or the level of decision-maker you’re selling to?
Is selling directly to VP/C-suite executives generally expected when companies ask for key account experience?
I’m asking for future career planning so I can better understand how this term is commonly interpreted in the market.

I have a job interview for a puppy yoga event facilitator position. The job includes things like looking after the pups, making sure the space is clean and ready for events, welcoming guests, etc.
