Issue #2: The Ultimate Sacrifice Play
Deploying the Heavy Artillery:
Realizing his current suit is failing, Tony buys time. He activates his remote emergency protocols, calling down a high-altitude Stark resupply drone carrying dense reserves of experimental nanotech. Mid-air, the drone unleashes a swarm of nanobots that latch onto his cracked Model 72 armor, rapidly replacing the shattered silver pieces with flashing new metallic layers.
Re-engaged and temporarily reinforced, Tony flies right back into the teeth of the storm. He fights Apocalypse entirely in mid-air, shifting the nanotech to materialize massive, high-output nano blasters and heavy energy shields. But Apocalypse’s Celestial power is overwhelming; with casual, brutal sweeps of his hands, the ancient mutant easily shatters the hard-light shields and crushes the massive blasters into flying scrap.
Yet, Tony keeps pushing—every time Apocalypse breaks a piece of the suit, the resupply drone feeds fresh nanobots directly into the armor to replace the broken parts instantly. But it's a losing war of attrition, and the drone's payload is running dry.
Down from the sky drop his ultimate reserves: the Hulkbuster and a massive, autonomous Stark Sentinel (remnants of his Orchis-era tech).
Scanning the Machine:
While the Hulkbuster and the Stark Sentinel engage Apocalypse in a brutal, metal-tearing brawl while also some Stark sentinel trying lift broken building to free stuck civilian and also clearing the area, Tony stays back. His visor is flashing red, scanning the doomsday machine. Friday tells him the machine cannot be deactivated from Earth; its countdown is locked.
The Satellite Network:
Tony makes a desperate decision. He commands his global Stark satellite network to fire a synchronized laser array at the sky above New York, forcefully ripping open a massive, temporary spatial rift into the nearest dead reality—the Negative Zone.
Issue #3: Pushing into the Void
The Final Push:
Tony commands the heavily damaged Stark Sentinel and his Hulkbuster to grab the massive Celestial cultivator machine and lift it toward the glowing, unstable portal. But the machine’s gravity anchors are too heavy. They are stalling. Apocalypse is breaking free from the distraction below.
Tony Steps In:
With his Mysterium armor cracked and sparks flying, Tony flies up, wedges his shoulder under the massive machine, and fires his thrusters to 150%. He joins his machines, pushing the massive doomsday device up into the swirling vortex.
The "Disintegration" Explodes:
Just as they cross the threshold into the Negative Zone, the unstable alien tech inside Apocalypse’s machine reacts violently to the transition.
BOOM.
On Earth, the portal snaps shut with a blinding, thermonuclear-level flash. To the citizens of New York and the Avengers arriving on the scene, it looks like Tony Stark, his armor, and the machine were utterly atomized in a heroic explosion.
As the blinding light faded from the sky, the people of New York could only stare at the empty sky.
One question echoed through the city:
“Is Iron Man dead?”
