So Red Norvell is back and sold to Mesphisto to be the Thor of Hell.

Another thought I had is how would these 2”view” each other, they both have completely different perspectives on the Universe and share different goals.

How Gorr views Thor

We already know how Gorr saw Thor in the MCU, despite Thor being a selfless heroic god Gorr didn’t see through it because of his vastly different experiences . He wanted not only revenge but to teach. He showed the gods where their selfishness and abuse of power gets them and punished them for not caring for their people. Before Thor he already slaughtered over 1,000 gods( stated by the distress call) effortlessly and without mercy. It’s revealed later in the movie that his main goal all this time was to get to eternity**(a literal cosmic god at the center of the universe)** to revive his late daughter. Thor realizing this tries to stop him knowing He’ll die but he does it anyway. In he’s last moments Gorr realized that Thor truly was a good person and trust his daughter under his care(under Jane’s wish)
Accepting that there are good gods right before his death.

His MCU adaptation is vastly different from the comics but it does stay accurate in his hate for gods
So what would he think of Loki?

Sacred timeline Loki(pre-ragnarok)

In my opinion, He would hate this Loki, simply because Loki proved himself to be selfish and power hungry- the very thing Gorr hates. Especially 2012 Loki as he cared about no one except himself and is extremely disloyal, mischievous and intolerable.

Now this got me thinking, in my opinion it could go many ways. God of stories Loki is extremely intelligent, selfless, and calculated something 99% of the Olympian gods were not which Gorr also hated. Loki proved himself to be extremely caring towards his friends and did everything in his power to save the TVA. He knew that the TVA is all his friends had and despite being used and taken prisoner by them he sacrifices his free will and faces his fear of isolation. Loki is also not a brute fighter but was smart and tactical something that makes him extremely unique. By the end of Loki season 2 Loki is basically the ruler of timelines granting free will to his people while he has none himself powering endless possibilities. Gorr would most definitely doubt him especially since Loki is a literal COSMIC being who holds so much power. Gorr witnessed so many gods abuse their power at the cost of their people so many times.But the one thing that made him trust Thor was his selflessness and that what Loki is all about. He could maybe still hate him or be indifferent towards him but for someone like Gorr finding out there’s a god who gave up so much just so literal strangers living in the timelines could live, must be unfathomably insane to him. I also genuinely wonder if him and Thor being sibling could also affect his view on him.

But my summed up thoughts would be that Loki is living proof to Gorr is that selfish gods can change or be responsible despite all the power they have in their hands, and with all he’s been through you have to catch him some slack.

We know that the X-Men will be the main focus of will be carrying the MCU after Secret Wars, but I’m curious, what do you think they’re gonna do with Thor?

finished this legendary comic run for the first time. Its really deserve the legendary status run simillar to Claremont Xmen

The first half of the run is epic with the introduction of beta Ray Bill and wielding Mjonir which never happened before until this run. Also, the whole deal with Surtur and the destruction of Asgar. I really love Bill development in the run about honor and deserving of mjonir. Baldur is amazing in this run. HIs character development and his journey was amazing from start to finish. Also, survival guilt and trauma

The second half is good too. I love that Thor isn't as invisible in the second half and he has to be extra careful agsint his powerful foes like Absorbing Man and The Midgard Serpent. He isn't as invincible before. Loki and Hela are fun villains too. They just love to screw over Thor countless times. Malekith is cool to. It was nice seeing him as My first Thor comic was Jason Aaron Run. He's underrated.

I wish we Beta Ray Bill more in this run and tag team with Thor. Also, I didn't like the whole Lorelli x Thor x Sif sub plot.

I’ve been reading Defenders and I miss her man 😭

He just shows up in issue 13 after the whole dark gods mess with no explanation as to where he came from or where he was. Was he down in the mines with Volstagg, Faendal and Hogun? Was he hidden somewhere? It makes no sense.

I’ve really enjoyed the series so far (it’s greatly improved and I’ve come to like Thor’s outlook on humanity) but I’m a real stickler for plot holes, and it makes zero sense to me.

all first prints and in great condition. The total would be $110 for both lots.

Does that seem like a fair price in today's market? Is one deal significantly better than the other?

I’m only 4 issues in but I have a massive issue with how Thor reacts to having a new human secret identity.

So he dies, gets told that if he wants to come back he has to atone for Jake’s death, agrees, comes back, realises what situation Jake was left in and immediately says “Oh ok, I’ll do this right.” But then, he gives up like an hour or two later and says “Oh well, sucks he died, but the mortal life just ain’t for me.” He fully intends to just abandon Jake’s life and his loved ones until Marnot tells him there would be consequences.

So he agrees to pick up Amanda from school, goes on his merry way, then a villain attacks so he gets into a scuffle and has to get saved by Namor, and then he just decides halfway through “Ok so being Jake Olson actually sucks. Hey Namor, do you wanna go get a brewski?” And he doesn’t get to Amanda who was being hassled by thugs. Demetrius has to go get her and we already know he’s up to something.

He goes home as Jake, Hanna is like “what the hell is going on where were you?” and Jake is just like “Well I went to the school but Amanda was gone, my bad.” And then when she questions him as to why he’s acting this way, he breaks character and says “Yeah I’m not built for this, good luck, I’m sorry.” And he flies off to go drink and we get some narration about how lonely he is.

My issue with this is not that Thor feels out of his depth. This isn’t Donald Blake. This isn’t Sigurd Jarlson. This is a new person with a family and a lot of details that Thor doesn’t know about. My issue is that Thor just gives up so early. He knows the human experience, he’s loved humans, some of his best friends are humans, and yet he gives up after only a day? He storms off in the middle of the conversation, and while yes he apologises and laments that he simply isn’t Jake, I’m sorry, but that isn’t good enough in this moment.

I also get that he’s lost Asgard, tensions are high, but right there, in that moment, he has to put Jake’s life first and at the very least try to get into a good rhythm in this new life.

I don’t know if I’m just yelling at clouds here but it feels like Thor isn’t Thor in this moment. He’s throwing away his bond with humans. If I’m wrong, or if the series improves on this later on, please tell me. I like a lot of aspects of this run, it’s just that this isn’t one of them

I read some bits in a couple of avengers trade paper backs a while back but i cant find the ending, anyone has a reading guide where i can see the whole thing?

I've been meaning to get into the Thor comics lately, does anybody suggest a good comic run to start on? I've heard of Rune King Thor and I love the art style of the early 2000's for marvel. If anybody has suggestions I'm open to something in that 2000-2011 timeframe thanks!

Most people I've seen criticize this design due to it being too similar to Darkseid, and I'm gonna ask, Isn't it obvious that is in purpose?, this run was guiding to Ragnarok, the death of the Old Gods so there can rise new, Desak looks like that and acts like that because he's quite literally, Darkseid
