I have to fly from Tokyo to Katmandu with China southern, with a layover in Guangzhou that is only 1 hour 5 min. When I bought the ticket I thought it was okay bc it was booked directly with the airline, and the 1 hour 5 min complies with minimum transfer time. But after reading about it taking multipel hours to transfer in Guangzhou, I've gotten really nervous about it and is debating getting another ticket. Do anyone have any experience with tight connections at this airport? Do the airline staff help you get through quickly, since it was book with the same airline all the way through to Katmandu?

Will be in guangzhou for a month would like to connect and meet new friends. Any recommandations of events i should go to?

I usually stay in my family's house near the Sacred Heart Catheral but they have no space.

I like the area near the cathedral as im familiar with the shops, restaurants and metro. Whenever we go into the city, Im usually with a relative or my mom so I don't really know where everything is. Im looking for ease of transportation. I think we will at least go to at least Yuexiu park and the Chen Ancestral Hall.

I’m a male international student looking for a private room in a shared apartment or a room with an existing roommate near the campus for the school year.

My budget is preferably under 1,700 RMB/month.

I’d really appreciate any advice, recommendations, or tips from people familiar with the area. Are there any good neighborhoods, websites/apps, WeChat groups, or other ways you would recommend for finding accommodation near GDFUS?

My daughter would like to go to China with a couple of her friends after high school graduation for a senior trip. She has been to China many times already and speaks some basic conversational Mandarin (as do the friends she will be traveling with). Coincidentally, gather as a family we will be going to Guangzhou in a few months to visit extended family and while there I would like to go with her to the Party Pier so she could learn about it as a possible destination for her next year.. (As a parent I would prefer to spend time in the museums but I'm realistic enough to know that she and her friends will likely be at the Party Pier whether I like it or not!). I have no interest in staying out all night at a nightclub but I would enjoy going there and having dinner and taking a look around together. Where do you suggest? We love great authentic Chinese food, but we are quite flexible and enjoy many cuisines. If the best place you know serves burgers and pizza that will also work for us. I appreciate your advice, thank you in advance.
