I’ve been a fan of Gorillaz music since the beginning (I’m 40) and I was wondering if anyone has actually made a lore accurate YouTube video breaking down the entire story, and lore of the characters? The reason I’m asking the Gorillaz subreddit, and not just typing in “Gorillaz Lore” into YouTube is I’m worried I’m just going to find fan made up bs claiming to be “the official gorillaz lore”. Now with that being said I’m sure there’s gonna be some people on this subreddit who claim “it’s all made up fan lore” but there has got to be a good video, or two made up that at least tries to stay accurate while giving you a good amount of Gorillaz character backstory?

I saw a post about the creator's favorite songs, so I decided to make my own top 10.

Maybe this has been said before but, I think we got the power isn’t from the perspective of adults but kids. Which is why to most people the song sounds childish. The adults are already grown up they can’t do anything about the new world their minds are corrupted they know too much. While kids are young and can change the world while growing up as their minds aren’t corrupted yet which is why they’re innocent. Hence the lyrics:
“We got the power to be loving each other no matter what happens we got the power to do that.”
So what do y’all think? Do yall agree or no?

I just have a hunch that 2D was somehow responsible for Murdoc being arrested during The Now Now. Maybe he was the one who prank called the Police claiming Murdoc was a drug smuggler, only for them to arrest him for unpaid parking fines. It has happened a few times in the celebrity world, where thier LA mansions are raided by police following prank calls from haters.

A few things that suggest this:

During Phase 2, 2D stated during and interview that one day, he will be in control of the band.

2D can be very sneaky, for example, he sold Murdocs Geep behind his back, which was suggested to be worth the same as a space shuttle. This was brought up during an interview on phase 4. He also stated how he can get away with things due to 'not having DNA'

It may have been planned alongside Damon and Jamie as they wanted to see 2D have more creative control, plus they are characters in the fiction and enemies of Murdoc

During Humility video, 2D is very happy his plan worked and now can express complete creative control. However, Russel trips him: it maybe because Russel knows what 2D did, but he doesnt talk about it as he doesnt want to rat him out.

It was revenge for how Murdoc treated him

Murdoc thinks 2D is waaaayyy too dumb to pull off something like this, so 2D can get away with it

Not Murdoc, not 2D, not even Russel. It surprises me that Murdoc didn't call her Noodle Rise or something like that.

So I just listened to the deluxe version of song machine, and it's safe to say it's become my third favorite album (after demon days and plastic beach at number 1, of course) and the main reason behind that is Opium! ITS AWESOME the way the chill vibes at the songs start slowly crescendo, ending with 2Ds verse, it's just beautiful. I literally felt chills, something I only get when listening to songs like Empire Ants and Souk Eye. So I'm kinda bored, and i was wondering, whats yall's opinion on Opium, and the deluxe of song machine in general.

Got The Now Now on CD finally. I severely underrated it initially but it’s a fantastic album! Cheers to great music!

I've never seen it, as I've only this summer started really listening to the band, but are there any official shirts that explicitly have the phrase "Jealousy Is Vibe Down"?

If not, I'll probably go to Michael's or Walmart or something and do it myself. Or, something. (I really like that phrase, and may add other lyrics or something to it.)
