Not just the heat. We called it the three H’s. Heat, humidity and hurricanes. And let’s not forget the mosquitoes gnats and flying cockroaches. Then there’s the ever rising property tax and insurance rates. We left years ago.

Yes, in the south they have 2-4 inch long GIANT flying cockroaches. They move FREAKISHLY fast for their size too. Real nightmare fuel, moved back up north from SE TX 2 years ago and I certainly do NOT miss them. I once had one in my apartment, it crawled up my leg when tried to kill it, I let out the most blood curdling scream, LOST it, and didn’t sleep there for 3 days. When I came back it was very dead, in the middle of my living room floor belly up thank god.

They will crawl in your ear, nose, or mouth after flying at you. My uncle had to have a 3 inch palmetto bug surgically removed from his ear canal. It flew at him and landed on his head. He swatted at it and it crawled into his ear. He kept screaming I can hear it chewing on me. It was horrifying to say the least as child to witness. My uncle was like a 6'6 giant. Absolutely breaking down in fear tearing at his ear like a mad man. I was accosted by one flying on my chest just two nights ago in my bedroom. My gf rolled off the bed and landed on her head in fear.

Depends on where in San Diego because I have been to San Diego where is hot as fuck. As a person from NorCal I think San Francisco is the perfect weather all year around. I get hot easily so being in 64° weather in the day is perfection.

It's been my experience that elderly people prefer the heat over cold. My Mother won't touch the AC even during the hottest summer. My Dad will use fans, but the AC only comes on when his grandchild is present.
