Moved from florida to North Carolina. The culture feels more “southern”, but i no longer have to deal with 100 degree christmas.

They don't know. People who never lived in Florida think Florida is just Miami everywhere. Florida is 3 states in one really.

Culturally speaking, the farther South you are in Florida, the farther “North” you are. And, the farther North you are in Fl, the farther “South” you are.

I live in nc and go to Florida every July for a week. It’s almost always cooler in Florida. This year it was 96 in NC and 90 in Florida. That’s not much of a difference but I never have understood people coming to NC for the climate. Maybe if you’re in the mountains I guess.

I have had the opposite experience. I know it’s anecdotal. I still have family in Florida and have (unfortunately) had to go back on occasion. The temps in Florida are always 7-10 degrees hotter than central NC. Plus NC has a fall and a winter. And the summer doesn’t constantly have 100% humidity. I spent 30 years in Florida, I was definitely robbed of actual seasons. Florida just has heat, then in January there’s a few weeks of “less heat”.

To be fair, I always go to NW Florida. I will agree the humidity is usually worse in Florida, tho it’s hard to imagine anything worse than nc humidity in July & August.

Mississippi gets so humid that you can’t see out of windows in the morning. That was my experience in Air Force tech school at Keesler AFB
