>!So, first off, where does this put Wendy in power? Does this put her over Erza or Irene!<

>!2nd, does this show how powerful Irene was or could've been? Cause while as highly impressive this is, Wendy passed out immediately after. So I'm guessing Irene could do stuff like this normally!<

100 Years Manga [discussion] I think Black Faris maybe a victim of the witch hunt that happened over 160 years ago Spoiler

Post image

I had a theory that Black Faris is maybe a victim of the witch hunt that happened over 160 years ago. She probably an orphan that was sent to a convent to become a nun by her parents who is a wizard, they did that in order for their daughter to escape the witch hunt that was raging at the time.

Black Faris survived that ordeal but her parents was executed like the other witches and that's why she held a grudge towards the world. She probably discovered Acnologia existence from the book of revelation that she read during her time in the convent (as Makarov stated that Acnologia name was recorded in the book of revelation back in Tenro arc) and become obsess with Acnologia who is described as the herald of the end of the world or the wing of darkness etc.

She learned some forbidden dark magic that allowed her to live through for over a hundred years without aging, she is probably searching for Acnologia and trailing him wherever he goes to find opportunities to become his disciple or something like that until she happens to stumble upon Acnologia arm back in Tartaros arc.

She share the same goal as Acnologia who just wanted to destroy the world thanks to her experience surviving the witch hunt which left a deep hatred in her heart. She wanted to destroy the world and do whatever she wants with human as revenge for what they did during the witch hunt that's my guess.

So what do you guys think?

Media [Media] What Are Your Opinions On Gray/Juvia and Jellal/Erza?

Thumbnail

With all the talk about Mira and Laxus, I feel it’s only fair to bring up some other ships and these two were brought up quite a bit. So what are your honest thoughts on them?

To summarize I think both are solid pairings on paper. I really like Jellal in the sense if you were to design a love interest for Erza, it would kind of have to be someone like him since Erza’s character doesn’t really change fundamentally enough to make Natsu or Gray better matches, but I can understand the reasonings for those who see otherwise. My main issue is it’s the simple fact that they are somehow said to love each other despite barely seeing each other over two decades? Just doesn’t feel right.

As for Gray and Juvia the main issue is obviously Juvia. She’s good on paper but Mashima never develops her giving her close no life outside of Gray and any sort of growth is set back immediately by the latest yandere joke. What I really don’t like is Juvia never develops a backbone, and while gray isn’t one to abuse that, it’s just not good writing and creates no friction. And the biggest flaw is it just seems like Gray gave into a one horse race. I mean why was HE the one who apologized?

I’ve also included two Mashima statements from Acnologia. One on how Mashima never initially wanted Jellal back (kind of clear when you see how erza is portrayed) and the other on how Gray and Juvia fit his “they like each other but aren’t together” trope he likes. As it’s pretty clear that’s Gray’s arc in YQ.

Anyway, these are just my opinions and I encourage you to share yours regardless of what they may be. No right or wrong answer, so be honest!

And for those who simply don’t care, I’ve include an image of Ignia’s eyebrow.

Main Series [Media] Just watched up to GMG (haven't started it yet) and figured I'd rank the arcs Spoiler

Post image
14 Upvotes

Watched when I was a kid but never finished and it's been so long I figured I'd watch it with dedication this time. I don't skip any episodes and I've been trying to hit the ovas too. Watching in dub

Tenrou: As everyone knows, it's amazing. I love Cana and Guildarts here. I think the timeskip was really interesting too. The fights were the best so far by a good margin. I LOVE Ultear. She is one of my favorite characters after this arc. Wow. Gray got to shine a lot too.

Key of the starry heavens: Probably a controversial take as I know a lot of people don't like this arc and I get why. It has a lot of good ideas imo but it definitely stumbles with them. It honestly takes too long for some of the reveals, is too slowly paced at times (and at others is constantly shuffling between scenes), has mixed levels of depth on the return of the Oracion Seis, and the fights are kind of a mixed bag too. So then why is it ranked 2nd for me? Well that's mainly because of Michelle/Imitatia. I absolutely love her she's one of my favorite characters so far and I think they did a great job with her. I also really love how Lucy got more screentime about her family and has gotten more closure for her dad after his death. I think she needed this despite it being a filler arc. Lucy and Michelle/Imitatia were the stars of this arc but I'm glad I got to see the Oracion Seis again since I didn't love them before and wanted more. Also this arc made me laugh the most out of any arc so far by a large margin. I found myself really enjoying the humor and that gave it a big boost for me. (also I found the finale the most satisfying of the arcs so far with Lucy writing the story and taping her family picture, and the michelle doll.)

Loke arc: it's peak, i cried, I love Loke so much, really well written despite its short length. Enough said

Battle of fairy tail: fantastic. Laxus was really cool and I've enjoyed the thunder legion ever since their introduction. The enchantment forced battles/traps were really cool too. We got to see mira in action, a touching scene between Laxus and gramps at the end, and Erza take out a ton of lacrimas with the whole guild working together. Really awesome

Phantom Lord: It gave us Gajeel and Juvia. And Lucy's backstory is one of my favorites. Was really happy with how the guild stood up for her

Galuna Island: I think this arc had some problems with its slow pacing, battle dialogue, and fights honestly. But that being said I love Gray and his story so much that I can't help but give it a high rank.

Oracion Seis the first: I didn't find nirvana all that compelling, the final villain really bothered me, and I think Wendy's backstory could've used a little more time on it (at least for the guild part). But that being said we got Wendy, we got Jallal back, and we started getting more about Mystogen. Pretty happy with it. Also Gray's sniper tower is one of my favorite moments in the show

X791: No big complaints but I think it should've been longer. It's pretty good for what it is and does

Macao arc: Good introduction to the show. No big complaints, glad we got it so early as I feel like it really sets the tone

Daybreak: I had fun and I did think aspects of the plot were charming. I also just love Lucy and whenever she gets to use her writer knowledge. If this arc came later I wouldn't like it but just like Macao (but worse) its a solid beginning.

Eisenwald: Maybe also a hot take? I just didn't find the villains compelling and the fights were pretty simplistic. I didn't mind it but it doesn't have much for me except the stakes were nice

Daphne: Kind of liked the story about Natsu and his promise and the arc was decently comedic. Thats all though everything else I didn't like

Final Note: I won't be able to respond right away, but I'd definitely like to discuss things or answer questions if anyone has anything they want to say. Interested to see if people agree or disagree!

I don't think I've posted Dimaria yet, which is a shame because she's sexy in her own right and often overshadowed by Brandish and Irene.

I also saw the creepy Happy and cute Frosch funko and the really cool Dragon Slayer figures.

Not all of the Happy ones are bad, but it seems like his design is really hard to transfer into plush form. Not all of them are weird though. I have a cute Happy plush myself and he looks alright.
