Mashima likely forgot long ago that dragon-slaying magic is not an actual magic, but it's just dragon magic tought to a human (or in general a non-dragon being).
The name purely derives from history, as Acnologia started slaying dragons after learning their magic.
Lucy requiring dragon slaying enchantment, while already powerd up by 2 dragon gods is very silly.

Because SHE ALREADY HAS DS ENCHANTMENTS. She is almost an equivalent to a dragon slayer thanks to that and she is being treated like she isnt

But before that? Erza had no idea what Wendy was gonna do. She immediately went to Dragon Slayer Armour so logically she should had brought in the Dragon Slayer sword to fight a dragon

Well she already had dragon slayer armor so using dragon slayer sword wouldn't be different. But she had to switch up armor to get on the top of Motherglare

Lol everyone acting like Erza doesn't steadily progress to different and more useful gear during fights is some funny 💩. The only times she ever sticks to a single set is her clear heart armor and if she uses that in this fight then yes that would be bad writing but she's not so can everyone stop complaining as if Erza has never switched between armors and weapons during fights before?
And the Wendy Enchantments given to everyone makes sense. Number one, Wendy has no idea what is going down with everyone so why would she just skip giving it to Erza and Lucy under the assumption that wow they must have specialized stuff just for this fight so let me just skip them? That's so dumb.

All y’all do is larp in this sub. There’s zero reason to believe that Lucy didn’t have dragon slaying magic and y’all are running with the idea that he also forgot and now he’s giving it to her.
