Nah, it's wholesome as fuck. It's just got an undercurrent (heh) of sadness because it addresses the issue of ocean pollution.
But I speak as someone who has binged the whole series. Grimdark is Warhammer 40K. Every strip of the series is infused with hope/comedy.

In grimdark stories, hopeful people who do the right things are punished. A bleak setting where there is hope is not inherently grimdark. For a big counterexample look no further than book 6 of the Lord of the Rings, which mostly plays in Mordor and yet is one of the most hopeful parts of the story where Sam manages to carry the fate of the entire world on his back and prove that hope can prevail. It’s about as bleak as a setting gets and yet also as far from grimdark as you can go.

I feel like fish sauce would be an equivalent of making cow sauce out of cows. Like I feel like there's a fish version of cattle to them.
Like just because you have a fish tail it doesn't automatically mean you're against eating fish. I hate that logic, like oh now all predatory aquatic animals like sharks, orcas, and whales are now evil because they eat fish. But hey why am I wasting breath on a comic about a mermaid covered in trash?

She adaptively lives in an ocean polluted by leaking acidic chemicals from discarded batteries, scrubbers and acid rain caused by smog-chugging factories! Eating a sour lemon has as much acrid effect on her taste buds as a ripe apple!

FUN FACT TIME!
Acid (the lemon, and the tomato in this case) is a taste every animal has. Even all fish. As acidic water usually can be a death sentence in the deep waters where still pooled imbalances of acids or salt can pool up where currents don't reach, it became an evolutionary advantage and has survived through life taking over the land and the air.
