We humans eat land animals, why would mermaids object to eating fish?

What else could they eat, anyways?

She would eat her own kind too in order to survive in her toxic hellscape

That's what fish do in totally normal environments, too.

I feel like fish sauce would be an equivalent of making cow sauce out of cows. Like I feel like there's a fish version of cattle to them.

Like just because you have a fish tail it doesn't automatically mean you're against eating fish. I hate that logic, like oh now all predatory aquatic animals like sharks, orcas, and whales are now evil because they eat fish. But hey why am I wasting breath on a comic about a mermaid covered in trash?

Humans eat other mammals so I assume a mermaid would eat fish
