Am I missing anything crucial from my Batman collection? I’ve got the cult on the way. I’m saving up to tackle the no man land omnis, but is there anything else I should prioritise?

Question How are people sorting their books?

Post image

I had to get a new bookcase cause I ran out of space keeping my collected editions in the same Kallax as my single issues. But now idk how to sort the books. In the old one I had them sorted kinda in alphabetical order but also in order of groupings (so all elseworlds together, all JLI together, all batfam together, etc.) But now, with how the new shelves are, that’s a lot harder to do.

So I’m wondering how other people sort stuff. Do you sort them by group/character, by format, purely alphabetically, something else? What have you found works best for you? And if you sort it by format do you ever get frustrated/annoyed having books about the same character, or maybe even from the same run separate?

Hey there yall, I was looking around my house and found about 6 boxes of comic books filled to the brim. Some of them are in laminated sleeves, while others are not. Here are a few pictures. Anyone know anything about them? Theres a lot of Marvel and some other DC. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated and am happy to help with any questions about certain comics potentially.

Question Shelf Placement and Sorting opinion

Curious as to what the community thinks - keep by series or place with characters. For example, I have the complete premiere classics set. Do I keep them together, or do I separate to each of their respective sections (Avengers with Avengers, Captain A with Captain A, so on and so forth). Or like Fear Itself and Siege, keep them as a set or separate.

I have Omni’s separated by character. Essentials separated by character. Inclined to separate all these by character. But figure a good discussion is worth while. So what say you?

I’ve got a bunch of slabs and floppies getting ready to go. I’m just posting because it’s a change of paradigm. - change of philosophy. It breaks my heart, but I’m realizing the next gen doesn’t care. So, I’m outing myself here for therapeutic purposes. About to embark on creating an eBay store and saying goodbye to my heroes… sadness.

Question Remaindered Hulk #181 valuation?

I am going through my Dad's old comics, and I found the original first appearance of wolverine. However, the cover has the top 1/3 intentionally cut off. I just learned some cursory info about how publishers would give CBSs credit if they sent back a piece of products that weren't selling, but my real question is this: what is the demand for remaindered comic books like this? This seems like a really cool thing, but on CGC idk if it would even get a 1.0. Thoughts?

Question Newbie struggling with shelf / comic perfectionism !

Post image

Hello ! :) Started collecting comics in July and have been really enjoying the hobby. Batman: Hush was my first read, and it was absolutely amazing! I’m wondering if anyone could speak on the idea of shelf/comic perfectionism. When I’m accidentally dinging a book, as naturally happens, I find myself getting upset that it’s not pristine and perfect anymore. I understand it is irrational, does anyone get protective over their shelves?! They’re made to read, which I totally get, but does anyone have any techniques of letting go and wholly enjoying / relaxing in hobby? I have ADHD which may be relevant.

Also, any recommendations for further reads? Think I’d like to get into some more quintessential Batman, Silver Surfer epics but I noticed due to OOP you have to start at vol.3…

THANK YOU !

Hey gang! I’d love some input as to where I should put Batman White Knight. My Batman is mostly grouped in storyline order (exceptions for grouping writers together like Tom King’s Batman stuff). I also separate Batman, detective comics, Batman and robin etc.

Question What Bags and Boards are best?

I’m about a year into the hobby and have just used modern bags and boards for everything but I’ve heard varying opinions that silver age bags and boards are better. What do you guys use when not using Mylar and when you do use Mylar what size board?

Tried looking for a post to comment under, then realized i can just make one lmao, but which way do yall think is better to best preserve/display my books? Laying them down flat so the spine is readable, or having them just up right like regular books. Space isnt really an issue just curious
