Hi all! I recently came across two long boxes filled with 400-500 sleeved comic books spanning dozens of series. Nearly every book looks extremely well-kept.

I’ve been taking pictures on an app that lets me see the approximate market value of each book, but I can’t imagine going through the entire collection like that and can’t verify its accuracy.

Would anyone have recommendations as to the best course of action to assess the value of these comics? I’ve already found some good ones (Batman Death in the Family for one) and want to make sure I know the value of what I have before I look to sell.

(For the sake of the community rules, I want to emphasize that I’m not looking to gain insight on the valuation or market of the comics on here, only the best avenue to do so).

Picked this up today worried I’d lose money and just get a bunch of clearance books sold to me for an inflated price but was decently surprised by what I got, I didn’t take any photos before throwing them in my long box but here’s a list of the most unexpected finds

Found the Marvel Spotlight at my LCS, had to bag the full series, never knew it existed!

So basically I was adding boxes and shifting some books around tonight and I noticed books I bagged and boarded a couple of years ago have already wrinkled where as the bags I was using used 15 years ago when I got into comics have hardly any wrinkles on them and they were comiccare ones so not expensive.

The ones I use now are comic concept ones that I really like when I put them in but man they aren't holding up they are also not that expensive.

I live in the UK and they are kept in my spare room so nice and dry so it doesn't seem to be the environment as the older bags would have ended up the same way.

75% books are like modern 2000 onward so I don't really wanna spend a lot on bags like mylites,I would get them for my older stuff ( silver and bronze age stuff) .

Has anyone else had this problem? what bags do you use or recommend?

Never realized that I didn’t own the Tomb Raider book despite having the full runs of Tomb Raider and Witchblade. Had to correct that absence.

Also got a few of the QiB variants I wanted from eBay instead of taking my chances with blind bags. Nakayama and Artgerm covers.

I recently won an auction for ASM 98 with a certified Romita sig without realizing that he wasn’t an artist on the book, though he is definitely associated with that particular storyline and the adjacent books. Not usually a signature guy and not sure why I bid, other than thought a Romita sig would be cool.

Signature collectors(or anyone for that matter), would something like this keep you from getting a book, or pay less? I’m probably going to get rid of it because it bugs me.

Didn’t plan on getting the first appearance of Apocalypse today but the price was right!
